Visiting the farm for the first time, Part 1
While it's not a real farm with all sorts of animals and such and they don't grow anything to sell, my parents do own a large area of land and keep horses on it. This is where I grew up and I am very happy they still live there. It's very nice to be able to "go home" when you want to. :) I had yet to take Manami to my old residence so I decided to let her see where her Papa grew up at this past weekend. I took a lot of pictures so I'll do several updates over the course of the next day or two.

Manami finds the huge Crepe Myrtle tree in the yard. It was in full bloom and the flowers were a super bright color this time around. She liked the color....

Posing at the base of the tree. A very cute pose dear!

"Papa, what is THAT??"
What do you mean Manami? What are you looking at?

THAT! What is that little thing??
Oh, now I see what you are looking at... lets pick it off the tree so you can see it better....

Manami has found a Cicada shell! It's the castoff outer shell that they leave behind after coming out of the ground.

Here it is in detail. When they come out of these, they change color and also have large wings. The left behind shell is very detailed and cool to look at. Manami had never seen a cicada before but she hears them all the time at our house.

Manami had been wanting to climb the tree so I told her to just be careful. Here she is on a lower branch. Please hold on tight!

I turn my head for 30 seconds and Manami has climbed up higher into the tree! You look pretty relaxed to be up there dear....
"I'm fine Papa, stop worrying so much."

I wanted to kind of prove we were on a farm so I had to get Manami to pose on a tractor. :) My Dad uses it to cut grass out in the pasture as well as pull stumps out of the ground and other farm things. The body language in this picture says it all.....
"I want off this nasty tractor NOW." Poor girl, the things she does to make her Papa happy....

"Now THIS is what I'm talking about! I'll sit on this all day!"
She has found her aunts motorcycle. It's a street bike that she uses to go to work and play around on. Not her main transport but it's fun all the same. Manami liked the nice color combination of black and the pink feathers on the sides.

"Can we go ride Papa? Huh? Can we?"
I'm sorry dear but we don't have a helmet that fits you, so no can do.

Manami finds a nice corner of the yard where the wildflowers are growing tall. She liked the smell of them as they were very sweet smelling and a nice shade of purple.

Here's a better shot of her in the sunlight with the flowers behind her.
Next up, the old barn in the pasture and some more flowers! ^_^

Looks like she had a very nice time on the farm.
awww she definitely had fun! XD
Oh, pretty place your parents have! So lush. And cicada shells! Dude, I used to love those things. They'd almost always molt on this wooden bench my grandparents used to have at their old house, and every summer I'd collect them and keep them in my room until my grandmother got tired of them and threw them out around the time school started. Next year the cycle would start all over.
Great photos!
nice set! Manami has a tomboy side to her! ^^
