which (pseudo)seifuku should I take?

Posted by milkypink [www]

since I'll be in Japan in less than one week now, I've got to decide what clothing to take.
since I've amassed a small collection of (pseduo)seifuku (school uniforms), I'd like to take one to wear~ but I don't know which is best....

(sorry for the poor quality of photos, I really have to stop only feeling like taking photos in the dead of night.... -_-;; )

which (pseudo)seifuku should I take?

grey x pink
Thinking about this, I might die in the grey sweater. It'll be about 800 degrees in Osaka....

which (pseudo)seifuku should I take?

cream x pink
well, the vest is comfy... probably not too warm. at least, it's likely to be less warm than the above, anyway.

which (pseudo)seifuku should I take?

cream x pink (cute ver.)
after I'd put together the above, I remembered I have a puff-sleeved blouse. not sure if that's really better or not but I think it's cute ♥ (less 'accurate', however)

which (pseudo)seifuku should I take?

Sakurako (K-ON! manga ver.)
I think the blue plaid skirt is cuter than plain light blue.... plus I haven't found a nice light blue pleated skirt yet, anyway >_>
As you might notice, the pink skirt above is more of a miniskirt, this one is actually a regulation length uniform skirt, but I'd probably roll it up anyway XD;
(ah, I'm aware I'm missing a blue ribbon tie. I'm working on that...)

which (pseudo)seifuku should I take?

fail!Tokiwadai (Railgun)

Okay so I bought this vest for cheap online, and the image there indicated it would be lighter than it actually is. So basically it fails for Tokiwadai, even without red stripes or emblem. orz. but you can see the grey skirt, at least! which, depending on the source of your info, might or might not be accurate for K-ON! anime seifuku (figures say light blue, the Azone dolls say grey)
orz.

I do plan on raiding some seifuku shops while I'm in the country, too ♥
put this under "cosplay" because, technically it is. I'm not a high school student anymore XD; even though I wear these like normal clothing.... ^^;

The skirts are way too long. Try cutting them in half.

Anyway, 1 vote for the 2nd pic.

as I said, I'd likely roll up the longer skirts. I'd rather not cut them in case they came out uneven, plus re-hemming would be a pain.
      Thanks for your input!

THink, dress smartly in uniform maybe?

Also, are those ties done up like that intentionally?

haha not really XD; I need to retie the tie, I kept it half-tied so it would stay on the hanger better...

Since your going to Japan in less then a week, I recommend that you do not wear anything with long sleeves.
August is the hottest month in Japan and it's going to be really hot plus it's humid.
Trust me, being a person that goes to Japan every year for Comiket and going to Tokyo again in around a week, this is something I know very well. Dress for the weather...the hot weather!!!
All the outfits look great but don't use the first one cause it has long sleeves.

thanks for your input XD I'm aware Japan will be hot - I've been checking the weather forecasts for those weeks and more recently. all of the items are fairly light, and the blouse under the first one has short sleeves. I won't wear long sleeves outside, but I'll be going in and out of air conditioned buildings so actually I'll need to have something with me as I get cold pretty easily, anyway.

I wonder if there are many other readers who will be in Tokyo that week...

It's over 35ºC (95ºF) in the hottest part of the day in most of central Japan at the moment, and just below 40ºC on the hotter days - you're better off putting practicality over style. It's not going to matter what you look like if you end up passing out from the heat (which a lot of people are at the moment) or dripping with sweat. You're best off with whichever is least uncomfortable in hot, humid weather.

Selidor, I agree. The weather is hot and humid and I say dress for the weather. Wear shorts and a t-shirt is more than enough. If you want to enjoy a trip to Japan, then wear clothes that are comfortable and everything...
You'll be sweating like mad if you wear those clothes...

        these are actually pretty comfortable for me, and not heavy fabrics really, esp. the pink set. it's also only one outfit out of many, and I've got a bunch of dresses + skirts planned (I don't really own any shorts XP) this would just be a one-day thing, probably wearing it while I do shopping rounds in areas like Harajuku or Akihabara XD;
        I'll take care of myself so I don't pass out, I promise~

Ah, it's not as though I'm wearing it to fit in, not at all XD I'm only bringing one because I like them, that's all.
I'm aware it will extraordinarily hot, as I said in the post. All of these items are actually pretty light, although they may not look it (the pink skirt in particular). This would also only be one outfit out of a week's wardrobe anyway~
