Marvel vs Capcom 3 New Character Amaterasu

As much as I love the Marvel vs series and the characters in them this is one character that I do not understand. Yes I know she is from Okami and yes I know that that game was popular but capcom has a ton more characters that to me are better suited for this game. Never the less I'll still pick this game up because its going to be awesome.
P.S at least Thor is finally making an appearance and with Super Skrull now in the game we will never see a Fantastic Four character....maybe
Interesting character. Judging by the video, the player was making pretty good use of Amaterasu.

Amaterasu is no weirder than Viewtiful Joe and all Mega Man characters in the versus fighting games. For me, anything goes in these kinds of games. However I'd agree with you if you posted about Amingo in Marvel vs Capcom 2. The cactus guy with a sombrero. I think he is scraping the bottom of the obscure games barrel. Maybe Capcom was trying to bring back awareness of their older franchises.
For additional characters I'd like to see more Mega Man characters like the bosses. Metal Man, Air Man, even Dr. Wily in his flying saucer.
Yes Amingo was something else but I kinda wanted to see Wesker, Kruger, or the Tyrant from the RE series in this game. One can only hope and since this game is some ways away we may see some Resident Evil baddies hopefully.
I think Tyrant already linked with Jill as her super combo... Just like the previous versions...

Her combos deserve a treat! I mean look at the sword and the elemental special attack, they're artistically made for fun!
As long as they don't OP our UP her she should be a decent character
Her voice sounds like brave fencer musashi ^^ well, one super skull is nearly all of the f4 :p nearly, wow the graphics! Do want!
I'm really glad to see Amaterasu in the game. I think she's a great inclusion that will be difficult to pull off, but it looks like they're handling her well! If she's balanced she might even be my character of choice.
