Farm visit part 2!
Now on to the next part of the farm visit! After playing around the front yard a little, we headed over to one of the pastures behind the house. Out there is a nice little barn that one of the horses gets fed in. It's a bit older than the other barns but it's still used. And just behind that barn is a massive Hydrangea bush. It's gotta be about 5 feet tall and over 10 feet wide. It's really a bunch of Hydrangea bushes all in a group but it looks like one big one.

Manami decides to play a bit of hide and seek in the front of the house. You can't hide too well back there though dear....

We finally get over to the barn. It's one stall and very old. My Dad and I built this at least 15 years ago, maybe even longer than that. But I love how the wood looks on it, very rustic.

Manami likes how it looks too. She says it looks antique. :) Very funny...

I think she looks quite nice sitting there. Plus it was shady here and kept off the blazing sun for a few minutes.

I think she is contemplating the questions of life here..... No, wait. She is wondering when lunch is. :)

I know this picture looks a little dark but I really liked how it turned out. With her in focus and the background out of focus, I think it looked very neat. This window is in the back of the barn so the breeze can flow in and out to cool off the horses while they eat. Manami ran around the back of the barn and propped herself up in the window. Too cute!

Also right behind the barn is the Hydrangea bush. Altho the colors have faded on the flowers, they still look pretty cool. Manami is sitting on the fence that keeps the horses out of the yard.

A close up to show details in the flowers and bush behind her. I like the little vine looking plants growing straight up behind Manami....

Down on the ground, more plants and vines beckon. It's almost jungle-like down here. Manami rests against a fence post for a bit.

Another angle while relaxing. I really think this was one of my best shots all day as I am very happy with how it turned out. Plus Manami looks so good in that sea of green...

Just across the fence is this woodpile. My parents use this for thier wood stove that's in the kitchen. It heats most of the house for free so they use it quite a bit in the wintertime. Since the breeze picked up a little, Manami is trying to get her hair back in place.....

While sitting down for a bit to adjust her hair, Manami sees something off in the distance, near the back of the pasture.....
"Papa..... what are those animals out there? They look big even tho they are far away."
What could they be? What could she be looking at? The answer in the next and final farm trip update! ^_^

Really great post, love the shots of Manami playing in the yard. Can't wait to see the next set.
Thanks so much! We really did have a great time at my parents with this shoot. My sister follwed us around the whole time and even posed her for some of them! Now if I can get her to possibly adopt a Dollfie..... :D
"So we sailed into the sun till we found a sea of green, and we lived beneath the waves, in our yellow submarine!" *bricked*
That barn does look rustic. Can't help but imagine Manami in cowgirl getup sauntering through the doorway though. XD
HA! A Yellow Submarine reference... now that's awesome. :) Oh, if I could find a cowgirl getup for her, I wouldn't care what it cost, it would be a done deal. A nice cowboy hat, some cowboy boots, a checkered button up short shirt and some Daisy Duke jean shorts..... man that would rule.
Great, now you've got me wondering what the steampunk equivalent of a cowgirl outfit would be. XD Which kind of surprises me, seeing as I've pretty much gotten OD'd on anything cowboy or native american living out here.
I can see how that could be an overload where you are located. :) Since I'm 1/8th Creek Indian, I've been around the "western" theme all my life, even tho the Creek were here in the Southeast. Growing up with horses and taking them to shows also solidified that atmosphere as the Native American influence is strong with most horse owners down here. Probably like that near you as well....
We do get some of that, but I've been lucky enough to get inundated with tourist kitch as well. /sarcasm There's only so many kokopeli magnets you can take before the sight of him starts to make you twitch. . .
I think your girl has a very good time in the garden^^
