Shingetsutan Tsukihime

I recently finished the anime Tsukihime, and one thing I find interesting about it is that the story itself was presented in a slow pace. It was more on the character development (especially on the part of Tohno Shiki), though I find the action part lacking in those flashy moves. For me though, that's just fine.
I'm currently watching Kara no Kyoukai, and the review will come (soon) after I finished.

I can't give a fair judgement for the Tsukihime Anime, because I played the visual novel -_-
You know how that goes.
Its okay... If I can somehow play the visual novel, maybe I'll end up having the same opinion as you.
"As the great philosopher Jagger once said, 'You can't always get what you want.'" - Dr. House
To me the VN was way better than the anime. Although I'm not mad about more Tsukihime material, of course :)
I just recently picked up Melty Blood (Tsukihime Beat'em up) after a long time to play it over the net (MBCaster) against someone I know, and it's really nice to see all the characters in action again and to be able to play against other people from that game's nice community.
There's also a translation patch for the VN and the bonus discs from mirror moon, so don't be afraid to pick it up - for me it's one of the best VNs besides Fate/Stay Night.
Melty Blood is Kickass. Quite a while back, when I only knew Tsukihime and not Melty Blood the game, I looked at figures that said "melty blood" on them. I thought "these characters look awfully familiar...what the hell is melty blood!?"
Later I found out Melty Blood = Tsukihime.
Hehe, just like me xD
I was searching for Tsukihime Figures (Ciel & Akiha <3) back then and only saw "Melty Blood Figure <thisandthat>", and never checked them - because I didn't know the game at the time. So I missed them all while thinking to myself what a stupid search engine those sites have xD
Now I know how to find Tsukihime figures, haha! Kind of baffled myself on how to look for those. Much thanks.
I <3 Melty Blood. I've always loved how the development of the game came about, and the cycle it went through to become mainstream. I always laughed that MB was a doujin fighter based off a doujin game (and originally made by a completely different group). Then the project almost died until Type-Moon gave permission to use the characters and ReACT was born. Then it was ported to the arcade, which was then ported to the PS2, which was ported back to the PC...
...and now there's another arcade version out there as well as another PC version...
These type-moon based anime are well made, just that they hit the limit of their medium. To me words will always say more than animation if written well which is the case for type-moon works.
I couldn't agree more. Though I've yet to see Tsukihime, Fate/Stay Night is a wonderful testament of words well written (and drawn).
Wait guys, there's a Tsukihime anime? Last I heard it DOESN'T FRIGIN EXIST!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is. It's called Shingetsutan Tsukihime.
Although I've heard people who hate it say "THERE IS NO TSUKIHIME ANIME"
maybe that's why lol
oh yes, here it is-http://s13.zetaboards.com/Community_Crucis/topic/6641057/1/
So that's why Tsukihime anime for some is 'non-existent'... For them its bad, compared to the VN. Now I have a reason to find it.
If you're hinting at the quality of the anime, well - still better than nothing :P
If not: There's an anime featuring the Arcueid arc and also Kara no Kyoukai, a series consisting of 6 movies in the same universe (although it's almost impossible that you haven't already heard of it ^^).
Kara no Kyoukai is actually the prototype for Tsukihime and thus set in a parallel universe.
Well story-wise it's the same universe, since Touko keeps hinting that she has a sister (named Aoko) she doesn't get along with ;)
There are actually hints that Touko skipped to the KNK universe to escape Tsukihime Aoko. But as Nasu as stated, no two people can possess the Mystic Eyes of death Perception since doing so entails being basically dying and then still being alive at the same time that person dies.
I didn't mean universe literally like that though - maybe 'setting' would be a better word to describe what I wanted to say.
After all, the worlds/universes/parallel dimensions/whatever are linked by the story, using those two magi - that's what I meant.
Guess we just had a misunderstanding ^^
I found something on the interwebs that would explain a lot on the relations of the Type-Moon characters... I think its called Type-Moon Relations (more like a relationship tree).
Tsukihime anime? ._.
You must be kidding.
I couldn't believe myself either. But I downloaded it and watched it. The picture above is one proof. That's Tohno Shiki and Arcueid.
"There is no Tsukihime anime"

This going to be an argumentum ad infinitum, so lets just stop here, heheh.
