I couldn't help but laugh at this...but I sorta hate Disney (or the P&F screenwriters,) now.... I just kinda feel like they ruined the caramelldansen and leekspin for me. Anyone else sorta know what I mean? >.<

facepalmed and LOLed. I think i'd call this a cross-culture/art reference! ROFLMAO. From one point u can see it as being stolen, but u cannot steal otaku culture, you only end up promoting it! XD
I wonder what the writers and director were thinking when they decided to do this. One things I can say is that, if this show was trying to be multi-cultural show. I think they did a pretty damn good job at showing the culture shock for some.
Face-palmed, but I don't really think that Disney tries to steal any of this memes. I agree with Crim that they're only ended up promoting it cos it's impossible to steal cultures. I mean, would I be "stealing" if I'm doing 'Meme of the Week' post on figure.fm?

Well I can't say that it's Disney, but perhaps the writers of this show who's pretty much stereotyped Tokyo with Caramelldansen, ganguro & leekspin. At least that's from my point of view.

It's not stealing, they're all pop culture references. It's pretty standard parody fare, no different to what you see in countless other media. Ganguro isn't really a meme either.

I wouldn't consider it any worse than other stereotypical anime/Japan references from other things.
To most people who don't follow otaku-ism (and to several that do XD), Japan is this place where crazy stuff happens and about half of it doesn't make sense.
Though, I'd have to agree with Valence's comment...
Disney steals whut? O_o
I'm pretty sure those are fanart.
The first one I even have in my favorites at deviantart.
Disney steals..nice pic eh..he he
What on earth was that?
I think it's Disney's attempt at being culturally (internet-wise) relevant?
Well we know thats not going to end well..
jasmine's nice outfit...double facepalm (my moe sis & me)
*sighs* Disney, you're trying too hard. :/

>implying caramelldansen and leekspin weren't ruined a long time ago.
stealing? i dun think so. parody? absolutely.
THIS.
Besides, I don't get how memes could be stolen. They're MEMEs for crying out loud. No one's property. LOLz.
Third.. How can something of no owner be stolen..

Lol I agree with you Crim.
This supports one saying I heard, "One day, Otakuism shall rule the world."
Or it could be an otaku that finally infiltrated Disney and is showing off his influence! HOHOHOHO
They have acknowledged Tototoro into Toys Story 3, so i wouldn't be surprised XD
It's pretty well known that John Lasseter is good friends with Miyazaki. I thought it was about time there was some cross pollination there... :)

They are just trying to get into the groove, coz Disney Japan has the awesome Fireball/Drossel and they dont! ROFL
Ha ha ha, I just watched some Fireball and no wonder Ojou-sama is popular.

Not a Disney fan, at all. I facepalmed.
*facepalm*

I didn't facepalm.
I *head-desked*
LOL. Nice way to put it.
damn it disney they got marvel now anime
EPIC FAIL DISNEY......
LOL pretty ridiculous, but I don't think it's stealing. It's like South Park and the Simpsons parodying Dragon Ball Z and Pokemon.

lol I noticed the ganguro girl too XD...
and commenting toward the vid...I think it was a pretty hilarious parody, stereotypical, but amusing... :P
I guess in that group, there's a otaku in it. Pretty cool to added what he likes, sorf of a reference no?
XD
haha, what I think is disney portraying the culture in Japan in some parody way.
the story explains.
Video at 0:50
What? No Haddaway meme? LOL
this is probably why most people who don't watch anime think it's crap.
No one who watches that show is going to get it.
"I have no idea what just happened"
Sums it up for me xD
I don't really think its stealing its just like parody pretty much
I don't know what's more hilarious, those moeshine eyes or that above posters are all OOO:<<< over it.
