I couldn't help but laugh at this...but I sorta hate Disney (or the P&F screenwriters,) now.... I just kinda feel like they ruined the caramelldansen and leekspin for me. Anyone else sorta know what I mean? >.<

It's pretty well known that John Lasseter is good friends with Miyazaki. I thought it was about time there was some cross pollination there... :)
I wonder what the writers and director were thinking when they decided to do this. One things I can say is that, if this show was trying to be multi-cultural show. I think they did a pretty damn good job at showing the culture shock for some.
They are just trying to get into the groove, coz Disney Japan has the awesome Fireball/Drossel and they dont! ROFL

Face-palmed, but I don't really think that Disney tries to steal any of this memes. I agree with Crim that they're only ended up promoting it cos it's impossible to steal cultures. I mean, would I be "stealing" if I'm doing 'Meme of the Week' post on figure.fm?

Well I can't say that it's Disney, but perhaps the writers of this show who's pretty much stereotyped Tokyo with Caramelldansen, ganguro & leekspin. At least that's from my point of view.

LOL pretty ridiculous, but I don't think it's stealing. It's like South Park and the Simpsons parodying Dragon Ball Z and Pokemon.
It's not stealing, they're all pop culture references. It's pretty standard parody fare, no different to what you see in countless other media. Ganguro isn't really a meme either.

I wouldn't consider it any worse than other stereotypical anime/Japan references from other things.
To most people who don't follow otaku-ism (and to several that do XD), Japan is this place where crazy stuff happens and about half of it doesn't make sense.
