A pretty Kimono arrives!
Actually, this short kimono came in at the same time the Ryomou school uniform came in but I had yet to upload these shots. I took these pics before I found out my new lighting tricks for better pictures. Still, I think these show the details in the outfit very nicely. This set was purchased from Yahoo Japan for me by a friend in Osaka. He was very helpful and shipped both outfits in one box to save time and money. This set only cost me $30 US not including shipping! Super cheap for how nice it is. Enjoy the pics!

A nice big box shows up with Manamis name on it! And it's all the way from Japan!

Ooooo! Look at all those goodies! What to take out first?

"These look like corsages Papa, are they?"
Not quite, I'll show you how they go on in a few minutes...

"Ahh! Very pretty! I'm opening these!"

Here is the entire set I got. There is a short kimono/yukata, a skirt, 2 Obi and then a velcro bow and a hair bow. All for $30!! Such a deal!

Here's the full set with the skirt. The little Obi doesn't have a bow on the front, it's around back. I really like this floral pattern..... it almost matches Manamis eyes.

A closer shot for some details....

So lovely in this!

Here is the bow on the back. It also has this little jeweled heart on it. Nice addition.

Manami decides she wants to try the outfit without the skirt.

Oh my...... very sexy looking.....

The back without the skirt. She likes that her legs stay cooler like this.

Now we try out the other Obi. This one is a bit more ornate and also came with a matching hair piece. Here, Manami gets into her posing abit more. I'm thinking with this short version, she looks like a sexy Kunoichi.

The funky green ribbon is a bit hard to tie up properly so I think I may try something different next time. You can also see a little of her hair bow. Looking good!

And here are those bows. The one around her waist is velcroed to the Obi. The other is a hair clip. I love it when she does that little tippy toe thing with her feet. :)

A nice close up of the bows. They really have some excellent detail to them.

"You there! Bring me my tea!"
Manami, the cat isn't going to bring you anything no matter what you tell him.....

"Fine then.... Papa.... *you* go fetch me some tea!"

Very pretty. :3
(Turns out I might be visiting Charleston this Saturday to check out the Art Institute, btw.)
Thanks for the comments! And good deal on the visit.... I know you'll find it very nice around that area of town. Hopefully it won't be too oppressively hot this weekend for you! :)
Manami looks so cute in her kimono, very wa-loli<3
Thank you very much!
just a suggestion nyah:3 i think she looks better if her hair was styled like shakugan no shana's Margery Daw^^
Suggestions are welcome but I have no idea who Margery is nor have I seen that show. ^_^ So I have no clue what style you mean...
nayaha^^ here^^ http://moe.imouto.org/post/show/43071/margery_daw-ootsuka_mai-seifuku-shakugan_no_shana-
Ahhh.... if you mean the girl with the ponytail, I agree. :) I really like ponytails but I can't get Manami to have one stay in place and still look good. Time to have my sister drop by and see if she can style it better! ^_^
Nice score! ^o^ Manami looks very pleased :)
Thanks Chun! Manami was very happy with her outfit indeed. She kept it on for quite a while before she had to change out of it to go to bed. I told her she couldn't sleep in it because of wrinkles... O.O
awww haha I'm sure she musta been tempted to sleep in it XD good that you remind her! ^^
feels more like a yukata.
Yeah with it being so short, I agree with you. It has a very summery feel to it.
Really nice item, looks great on her.
Thanks very much!
I love the lace-up look, but that particular string looks like it'll probably unravel something awful. Good thing there are plenty of other strings that could better fill the role.
Yes, I completely agree with you. That greenish thing came with the set and it's just not all that great for holding it's place. It actually feels and functions like a Finger Torture toy. ^_^ It's a very odd material..... So I'll find something better to hold it soon, just need to find something that matches the outfit well.
A bit of rawhide cord from the craft store is what came first to mind for me. There are probably other things that would hold it too. Either way though, the whole cincher with a kimono pairing reminds me of some of the outfits I've seen the lead singer of Leaves' Eyes in. ^_^
That's a very cute outfit. You should take some photos outdoors with real flowers before they're all gone. :)
All the flowers around me are already gone :( But that's okay since I have Hurricane Lilies planted out front and they should be up in bloom by early to mid September. She will definitely be taking pics with those in this outfit!
Congrat new dress~
I think you want Japan-shoes next ^.^
Oh yes! That would be really nice to get for this outfit. I am going to Japan in September and I plan on going to many stores to try and find things for Manami. I'm hoping they have some nice shoes/sandals for her!
Nice kimono!
Thank you!
