Rin the Idol appears!
A couple weeks ago, I found a cute little outfit based on one of Amami Haruka's outfit from The IdolM@ster. Feeling a bit inspired, I set off to put together all the pieces to create my own custom Dollfie Dream based on Haruka. Now that the outfit and boots have arrived, I decided to let Rin try the the outfit on and check the fit on an M sized bust.
Somehow I get the feeling I'll have some difficulty separating Rin from her new found idol status...!
The outfit was pretty interesting to put on. Like many dresses, it required removing the head to slip on.

The outfit also came with hair clips (to complete the "baka-ribbon" set), though Rin's hair wasn't styled in such a way that they would work.
The gloves were challenging to get on as they weren't really contoured properly. Fortunately, they're made of a stretchy material and were able to go on with a little coaxing.
The bows on the side actually came partially undone while I was fighting with the zipper. I had to figure out really quick how to get it retied. ^.^;;
As for the zipper on the back of top, it seemed a bit flimsy and I had some trouble with the pull. It sticks halfway down and I had dislodged the pull from the zipper... that was another challenge getting it back on properly.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with the outfit. The boots also managed to be a close fit, though they lack the little fuzzy bits. I could probably modify them to include pink frills, but that may be more work than it's worth.
This is a good reference image for the Haruka I'll be creating! Now all I need to buy is a wig, the body, and the head. I'm also going to commission an artist to do the faceup work.

I was very pleased with how they turned out. They're not an exact match, but they're very close to the look I was going for!

I've seen a Hoshii Miki (though it wasn't a Dollfie Dream, but some other kind of doll), an Akizuki Ritsuko (which was in a giant group picture of Dollfie Dreams, so I couldn't see it up close), and an Otonashi Kotori (in the same picture as Ritsuko).

Ah, Rin looks so cute in that! I can see why you fear her giving it up! :) I really think those boots look great as they are.... I know they aren't a perfect match for that picture you have of Haruka but I like them as they are. Didn't they have bows on them in the pics on your website?
They were just held on with a strap and a clasp so they are removable. You also have to take them off before you can put the boots on.
Ah, I gotcha. Still, Rin looks so nice in that. I bet she is happy that Yoko cannot fit into that one! :)
I'm actually glad I'm going with an M bust. Somehow I think it would have trouble fitting on even an L bust (let alone a Dynamite bust).
Oh don't get me wrong, I think going for the M bust is the way to do it, especially if you are trying to emulate the Idol shown above. I just meant that if Yoko *could* fit into it, poor Rin may not get it back from her. :)
I think Yoko is enjoying her 80s look right now, so she wouldn't fight Rin for it. XD
