Mac Vs Pc

Is you computer more manageable on a PC or a Mac when supper messy! My boss (technically because I am interning at a nonprofit) told me to stop being a non multi-tasking pc person. i found that very funny, but when I saw what he meant, he had a bajillion things on his mac and he working really pretty fast until I was using his laptop. So the question is Do you multi task on a pc faster or a Mac????
Horrible destop screenshot, usually when I have that many stuff, I have to use dual screen...

basically its about which have accompany you longer? Personally I used to multitasking with windows than mac (and more multi tasking than your screenshot lol)
mac......have tried it but it's just weird......sure it's fast but something like "huh wat??" will happen if you already used to windows
my own experience was I'm totally clueless in handling adobe photoshop in mac >.<
My boss was like moving his mouse to the corner, and then everything disappear. I was like whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaT
I multitask ALOT, so the Mac OS has just always been so much more manageable for me.
Personal preference... for me, PC.
I'm pretty sure it depends on your personal preference....some are going to say Mac, some are going to say PC.
You forgot Linux XD
I'm an insane multi-tasker, especially with work. I wouldn't imagine being able to do it anywhere else other than my Mac Pro. Then again it matters entirely on what you're doing or what you've been using the longest.
I have both personally I love my mac and osx but I wont deny the usefulness of windows. They both are different and great in their own ways. I find I use my osx for like every day stuff or watching movies but for gaming and downloading I use windows. However mostly I use parallels so my mac runs windows also. maybe its cheating xD. But I do have a toshiba laptop I hardly ever touch my grandparents gave it to me as a school gift the thing sucks and the windows experience on it is terrible. Your machine and whats in it is a big factor also
Mac r for my casual work (surfing/video/ripping) but when it comes down to orginising my files i would stick with windows. my prob with OSX since Tiger has been FINDER, its useless compared to Window Explorer, u cant open files as a list with the side bar displaying the root folders and all the folders within. another prob, i use FINDER to display in column and if a file name is too long it wont display the whole name unless i click on the file. in Window Expolorer u can view files as a list and the file would be displayed in columns in relation to the longest file name - that way u can c the whole file name which u cant in FINDER.
oh i have been using MacBookPro since the days if the titanium
the MacBookPro Titanium was innovative for its days, such as slot loading DVD / Wide screen display but the compatition has catched up. MBP is still the best machine in the market but priced too high, ur paying for the hype and image.
I'm happy to see this hasn't turned into a "PC vs. Mac" posting as many of these do. They are both computers (technically they are both PC's). I'm also a big multi-tasker but I do it differently, I'm surrounded by 3 computers, 3 monitors, and a KVM switch for my keyboard/mouse.
I've worked in a technical support position for many years and I have had just as many customers Macs crash while on the phone as I do people running Windows. In my opinion what's most important is what you prefer to use, can afford, and will run the software you need to use. I prefer Windows myself.
Jei Shi brought up a good point about Linux. It's still not as easy to use as the other systems but it's pretty close and it's completely free.
If you aren't very comfortable fixing your own computer problems Windows has one big advantage in that it's easier to find help for what you need. More Windows users means a greater change of finding someone who can help you.
Do you if there is some program where you can link 2 computer together?
Well, I'm not aware of one that would let them be linked together so you have one (more powerful) computer but you can share your data between them. I have my computers on a single network all connected to my one router. I've shared a number of my hard drives so I can access the data on these drives on any computer.
I'll setup one computer to rip and convert a DVD and let it do it's thing while other computers are playing MP3s, running photoshop, playing a game, watching anime.... whatever I'm doing at the time.
Both, as long as each computer has plenty of RAM. I have a few programs open (iTunes, Photoshop, Painter, connection status screen) the tons of tabs on Firefox.
I tried Umbutu, but I'm missing too many drivers for my Tablet PC, it's useless. Unless I'm doing something wrong. Shame because it runs very smoothly.
Hnnn... I say it would depend largely on the OS you're used to. In my case, I feel very much at home with windows. I tried multitasking in linux, but it still feels odd. I haven't tried multitasking in a mac yet.
I don't believe multitasking exists. :p
1 person can only do 1 thing at a time per set of tools. You can't possibly do 2 things at once. Otherwise, you can just switching from 1 thing to another.
And if you can switching from 1 thing to another, it's not that different from doing 1 thing, finishing it then moving onto another thing.
Maybe you never had enough screen space that enables you to do multitasking. Or had yet to meet a program that requires it.
I guess that's true. I can't imagine why would I try to do so much at once. :P
I use both of the OS you mentioned and can multitask with both of them. Home is Mac OS and work is Win 7. Obviously prefer the OS I use at home, but I'll make it work with whatever I have.
when you say Mac... you mean OSX right?
I use windows at work cause mostly web dev & testing... but I don't like windows. At home I use custom Hackintosh (runs OSX better than Windows) but also run Win 7.... no problems. I do prefer OSX Snow Leopard.
I multi-task better on a Mac, but that's simply because I've been a Mac user since I was a child and so I'm just more used to them. I don't think there's a definitive answer to this - it's down to individual preference.
There is no right answer here - each person will be able to multitask more efficiently on whichever OS they are more familiar with. For me that's OS X, but that doesn't mean I couldn't multitask on another OS or that one is necessarily better or worse.
Huh? I don't get the question. Macs are personal computers, are they not? Macs are PCs. They are a PC brand.
I would say that's really up to the individual. I use both Macs and PCs and I don't really notice that big of a difference lol, maybe I just suck at multitasking :P I do prefer OS X's UI over Windows.
I have been using Mac for almost 10 years.
I believe windows also do multi-tasking well, but for myself, Mac OS have a more familiar UI, higher stability and less virus.
I prefer PC, I've been using only PC more than 10years and always multitask...
