Desk, Room, and Detolfs

Posted by haruhism1 [www]

Just some pictures of my collection and room. I'm not the type that likes stuff on my walls so I don't really have posters all over. Almost got all the figmas I want.

Almost all my Haruhi stuff I got last year already so this year I pretty much picked up all these figmas since there wasn't much for me buy. I think I'm one of those few that prefers figma over nendoroid which I'm glad since those guys can be so pricy for the older/rarer olds. Figmas aren't too bad compared to them.

Nice Figma and Nendo collection. Only Figure I want from there would be Vita and Rider ^^.

I saw you already have Saber Extra so I'm jealous of that but mine should have just shipped so her and Saber Alter should be here some time this upcoming week. Rider I had to ebay since I missed her preorder but she's an excellent figma. Lily is still my favorite Fate one though.

Then you can do a nice photo-shoot upon their arrival. Spawn some ideas now and photoshoot them when done ^^.

And wow, you'll have the two Figmas I want - Rider + Alter. Lily? Ya, shes nice, but her arm posing is a bit limited. Hope your new figmas don't get banged up on arrival.

Well I love Lily's design compared to regular Saber or Alter so that's probably why she's my favorite. As you can see I display my stuff open so if I do get some damaged boxes during shipping, it isn't that big of a deal to me since I'd open them anyway but it sad when I hear about stuff like that happening to people who care for their boxes...

I like to keep things pretty simple so no posters and what not on my walls. Actually the side of my room which you don't see if where I tossed my laundry and such. Haruhi pretty much made me the collector that I am today but I doubt I'll ever do another series again to this extreme. For now, I'll just stick with figmas and avoid larger PVC figures and what not.

Is something being used to prop Tsuruya-san up?

Ah, yea. I'm surprised that you noticed. Actually I had her since she came out in like 9/07 and since then she's been slowly leaning forward. After cleaning my set last month I saw that her feet don't fit in the base's pegs anymore so I tried to fix her a bit. For now I have my K-ON chop sticks holding her up while trying to shape her feet back into her pegs. From the first moment I got her I knew she was going to cause me trouble down the road with that leaning forward stance and massive hair to her right.

Now you only need dollfies to complete your Haruhi collection, then the collection will be a little bit more complete XD

Well, some people have asked me if I was interested in getting some dollfies for my collection but honestly I still can't pull the trigger for one. I prefer smaller items so the Azone 1/6 scale works for me but there is something about dollfies' eyes that creep me out a little. I dunno. Maybe one day if I can find a cheap enough Haruhi one I may get her but for now I'm happy with my 1/6 set.

Ah, someone noticed! Back in the 80's I really like the first series and only had like 2 of the sets as well as 2 sets of SP 2 in the 90's. Lego toy sets were always a favorite of mine as a kid but they were always so expensive so I didn't have many of them. Fast forward to the present so when I saw these SP 3 sets I decided to fulfill an old childhood dream of mine to own a complete set. I'm only missing the new Lunar Limo set at the moment since I prefer the police vehicles over the Alien ones.

Yea, I feel that this is the best way to display these types of items since they are made to hang off your cell phone or key chain already.

Hmmm I think I got them from Mandarake for 500 yen. They were a giveaway item or something at the last winter wonderfest I believe.

Thanks for posting pics of your collection, it looks great! We have so many figures in common -- you're my collection-twin. I really hope I can prevent my Tsuruya from leaning though.

Well mine is about 3 years old so gravity did its job. Best solution to prevent I would say is that every few months or so put her back in her box sideways or upside down. I should probably just get another so I have always have one on display while the other gets the anti leaning treatment. Hmmmmm.... now there's a thought....

Aww, taking a look at your stuff on Tsuki-boards, you still have tons more dolls than me like your LS ones and Haruhi Dollfies. For the price of one of those dollfies I can probably just get a set of Azone K-ON dolls instead but if I ever come up big on a casino trip, I'd buy a dollfie to see what the big deal is with them.

Yea, that's how the desk is. I picked this one up at Ikea back in Jan 08 so I'm not sure if they still have this particular model still. Overall I enjoy it since it has two shelves right in front (can buy more I'm sure) as well as some metal "U"s to put on the top to separate your books or what not. In the picture I only use two to make room for the bunnies but the desk came with like 6-8 in total. The only downside to this desk to me is the empty side on its right. Don't know why they just couldn't stick another board there so unless you face the right side towards a wall like I did, there will be a gap. Hmmmm I don't remember the price for this one but I think it was like $80-100 since I remember it was fairly cheap.
