Kyoto Animation: Let's visit KyoAni!
I went to Kyoto proper for Daimonji, and stopped at Kyoto Animation across from Kohata JR station, and took some pictures in front of the landmark building where the girls from Lucky Star took a group picture. I went to the second KyoAni building, but because of O-Bon, the KyoAni Shop was closed.
However, I had to drive my friend into Kyoto earlier today to take him to the prefectural department of motor vehicles to see about getting a driver's license. Afterwards, we drove back to Kohata and visited the KyoAni Shop. I spent a fair time talking to the animators and found out a truly amazing thing- KyoAni did the inking on Kimagure Orange Road (sub-contracting was quite common at the time)! So definitely a case two birds, one stone.
I ended up purchasing a Haruhi towel, a Yuki glasses cleaning cloth, and a file folder I plan to keep my lesson plans in when school starts up again in September.

Next stop on my Lucky Star pilgrimage on my next Japan trip will be Kyoto Animation studios!!! (^o^)
looks great it is my dream to go there, and pink shirt FTW
One of the "Must Visit" places on my list. ^_^
Looks like it's fun to visit KyoAni Studios!
I might visit it someday...
I went there last year!!! Great place!!!
Bought so much that time!!!
When I went there, I was strapped for yen, so I could barely get anything from the shop. I want to visit it again!
Great thing about living in Kyoto; I can go back whenever I want. My only disappointment was how little Lucky Star stuff they had. It was probably 70% K-ON (which I do not like) and 25% Haruhi and 5% Lucky Star. So like the three Lucky Star items they had were things I didn't want. As it was, the Haruhi Towel was the very last one they had; I had to buy the counter display (it was still in its plastic, luckily).
Huh. I was there a little over a year ago, and I remember there being a decent amount of Lucky Star stuff. I think there was even a little video display thing advertising one of the Lucky Star items (some sort of deck of cards, I think). Trends are a fickle thing.
They still had the cards. They also had a stamp set and a grab bag sorta thing with a little design booklet and calendar in it. The calendar was from 2009. And that was really it. They had a Lucky Star towel on display, which I wanted, but unlike the Haruhi one, that one wasn't for sale, it was a permanent display.
