Loots for my dolliez at American Girl Place

Posted by Ms. Geek [www]

Yesterday I went to American Girl Place in The Grove, an outdoor mall right next to the venerable Farmer's Market and CBS' Television City facilities in Los Angeles. While AG clothes would not fit a Dollfie Dream or an Obitsu without major alterations, AG accessories are good to go. Brought home some dishes and mugs and a really gorgeous acoustic guitar, complete with vintage-looking pleather-covered case. AG clothes could fit Mini Dollfie Dreams, something I intend to investigate another time. AG is actually a subsidiary of Mattel now, but amazingly enough the quality is far beyond Barbie-quality. Yet another place which is very dangerous for someone like me now! (shudder)

Sometimes you need a Native Guide to get around Los Angeles. We're so spread out and so crazy here. Farmer's Market is actually quite cool too...lots of good food stalls, some going all the way back to the beginning of the place. Really, The Grove is so plastic...sort of a movie set version of Small Town USA. At least Disneyland and Universal Studios has rides. All The Grove has is shopping.

They remind me of the casual dinnerware that was popular during the '70s. Just groovy. My favorite American Girl accessories are the ones which are designed for their '70s girl Julie. It looks like stuff you still might find in a thrift store today, and yeah, I'm a child of the '70s and I get all natsukashii about that stuff. I'm hoping to find more of it on eBay because getting a habit of buying American Girl stuff new is totally expen$$$ive.

Wow, that guitar is tops! I'll have to see about finding one of those sometime soon as the look of it is just too cool with your dolls. And the details are great too!

I don't know if you have an American Girl Place there in SC but I'm sure you can get the guitar through their website. It's $30 but worth every penny for all the awesome detail.

If you want an electric guitar or a bass, you might want to check out luvcolec10 on eBay. He's the guy I got the Slash Snakepit Les Paul from.

No, I have never heard of one in my area. Heck, before joining up here, I hadn't heard of it period! :) Funny enuff tho, my Mom has an AG horse at her house. She says it's pretty big but it's in the attic and she doesn't know exactly where. It would be cool to see how large it is compared to Manami tho.

Thanks for the link tho and for only $30, that acoustic is a great deal. I'll have to hit up the website next paycheck and see about getting one.
