My first daughter is now at home
My first daughter is now at home
I was so excited today to finally welcome Sakura Matou, my first daughter, to my home!!!

Like many people here, I first got interested in DD’s thanks to posts by Danny but figured there was no way in the world I would ever pay that much for one. “Those people must be crazy!” is what I’d say. (haha) After finding Figure.fm and seeing so many other posts from people about their DD’s my defenses broke down and I started looking for my first girl.
I was seriously considering spending close to $1,000 for Yoko, who is one of my favorites, but thankfully at that same time I found out about Doll Party 23 and fell in love with Sakura. At first I didn’t think I had won her as I noticed my money was returned to my bank account after the event finished – then a few days later the money was gone again and I got the confirmation that Sakura was mine!!! It was a tough 3.5 months wait but today is when she showed up.
At first I was nervous as the outside box was a little smashed, right around the big orange FRAGILE stickers as well. Lots of good those did.

Even the inner box was a little damaged but not too bad.

I have heard many people say that they weren’t really prepared for how large DDs are and I’m no different. Not only was I not really prepared for how large they were but now beautiful as well. Even without her wig on Sakura looks so cute:

She quickly reminded me that she still didn’t have any clothes on. I quickly unpacked her school uniform and helped her into it. While helping her get dressed I had to apologize a few times for my ‘wandering hands’.
I let her know I wasn't doing it on purpose, it’s because I’m not used to girls clothes and she’s my first daughter. She said she forgave me but I’m not sure she trusts me 100% yet. :D

She has very pretty hands

I let her start exploring around her new home, she was at my computer desk so she started checking out the various computers, I guess she wants to make sure they were up to her standards. She needed help getting back up off the floor and I couldn’t pass up the chance to get such a cute shot of her:

She found a few other toys on my desk, such as the Akai MPD32. She liked hitting the buttons and watching the lights change.

I started to show her how to use the computer and how to start movies so she can keep busy when I’m at work. I found out that she’s already a big anime fan and loves K-On! - just like her Daddy. She hadn’t seen the latest episode of K-On!! since she was traveling to my house so we watched that.

I kept taking pictures of her and she eventually asked me to stop since the flash was making it hard to watch the show.

I then started to show her how to browse the Internet and find some of my favorite sites. I took her to Figure.fm which she really liked. She really liked the post from spark90 who had pictures of a very familiar looking girl. “Wow, look at this. It’s one of my sisters!!!”

She started going through some of my other bookmarked websites that I visit. At one point she stopped, turned around, and said: “I think ecchi things are bad!”.

She ended up going back to watching anime after that.
I’ll have to make sure she doesn’t watch Highschool of the Dead.

congrats XD, sorry to hear about her box being damaged, generally UPS tries their best not to let their packages get damaged, but i'm glad she's okay XD
Thanks, I'm so happy with her. I don't really have any plans on selling her so I'm not too concerned about that box.
This is something you don't want to see. Congratulations on your first daughter.
I was so excited when UPS came to the door I didn't even notice the box damage till he was gone. Not that I would have refused delivery :D It just took about 3 months off my life while I carefully opened the package.
Congrats! I was completely caught off guard with the their size, most people I know are surprised by their size as well. Oh the books would scare me a bit and even the box was damage as well, good thing Sakura was unharmed! UPS has yet to bring me any damaged good, I just guess it depends on location and service, but like psyche says they do their best not to let their packages get damaged.
Yea, I'm usually very happy with UPS delivery. At least Sakura is fine.
Love this shot, such a beautiful face! :) Congratulations on your first girl!
Thank you. She is a cutie, isn't she.
congrats on your first adoption :P Sakura is too cuuuuuuuuuute XD
Thanks sushisake

Thank you Chun, I'll be sure to post more pics soon. I have a few pieces of clothing you designed for her so she's anxious to try them on.

Congratulations on your first daughter ^^;;
Glad the damaged box didn't hurt her.
Kongratz on your first daughter! and welcome to the dark side~ (^^)
Sakura looks very beautiful.
Congrats on getting your first DD! Hope you enjoy the DD world!
@_@
This was similar to my first dolflie too~
congrats! The pic of her watching TV is cute ^^
I'm sure that box damage made your heart stop. I'm glad everything turned out OK!
Thank you everyone!!! Sakura wants to say thank you for the warm welcome as well.
Congrats on your first DD! Will she be your last? Or have you come to the dark side . . .
Thanks. At first I was seriously thinking I would just get Sakura and that's it. Now that I have her I really want her to have a sister at home. haha I think I've fully fallen to the dark side. :D
Congratz on your first DD! (Hear the doll gods chant "you must buy more, you must buy more" XD )
Hmmm... looks like Volks USA is as bad as Volks JP at packing their boxes. When Volks JP shipped my Alna, it was an air-tight fit between the inner and outer boxes with absolutely no packagin material between them. No buffer zone at all! Not even a bit professional in my oppinion. Guess I was just lucky there was no transport damage.
Thank you. I'm already looking online to get some extras such as hands, clothes, and maybe a wig or two. Maybe another girl in a few months if my bank account says it's ok. :D
Very nice, congrats to your first daughter~ Who said ecchi things are bad?!!
Thanks. It seems Sakura was just giving me a hard time. Seems she's a really big fan of anime and thought it was a good time to quote Mahoromatic. =D
I can remember the feeling of getting my very first DD. Congrats on your first! ^^
Ah very nice! Glad to see she got to you in good shape! Congrats on getting her all taken care of and letting her check out the house. Aren't daughters just so inquisitive? Mine gets into EVERYTHING it seems... ^_^ And great photos, those are very nice shots. I look forward to seeing her new outfits!
Yes, she seems to want to play with just about everything. She's been asking about my guitars but I keep telling her they are way to big for her. haha
Now that would be fun to see, Sakura jamming on a fullsize guitar. :) Too funny!
Congratulations on your first! She is wonderful. I hope we see more of her.
Congrats!!!
omedeto! its good to see she very genki! waiting for more photos!
