VIKA Tables

I'm sure some of you out there use this setup with these desks.
I know Danny does :3
Question being, how would I go about installing lighting under this desk like Danny?
I'm also concerned about heating issues with the lights. Are the lights going to heat up the glass table?
Please give some feedback, hopefully what I'm looking for is a product available at IKEA :)

If you get the Ikea Dioder lights, they won't get hot at all (LED lights) and you can get them in pads or strips.. 4 to a pack.
Get LED bulbs. You can put as many of those as you want under the glass and even use a variety of colors without heating at all. Just be carefully how many you connect to the electric outlet.
Im wondering if the effect would be same as what Danny is using though.
I'm not a fan of pure white lights for indoor lighting, I like more of the standard white-yellow colour for lights. Do you think LEDs can give this effect?
I'm also not sure but, would a regular light (one that creates heating) pose some sort of danger?
Mmm... yeah, I also like the warm yellowish light better. Maybe using some white and malba(orange) bulbs together? Other option could be use warm twirl-bulbs, got those at home and give a very nice light; try with the ones of 15w or less to keep heat to a minimum. G' luck!
there are LEDs that produce yellowish natural white light like normal light bulbs does. I believe Ikea sells them as well.
I say put a Disco ball under the desk =P
Heh that might be too distracting :3
LoL, you can never have enough distractions on your desk =P.
I can barely see the bottom of my computer screen, there are figures everywhere -_-;.
No problems with lighting over the years - any light will do.
The man has spoken. Amen. ^^
Lovely. Thanks for the tip Danny.
How much does that cost?
If I remember correctly, IKEA sells the two leg-shelves for $40 CAD each, and the glass for $100-$120 CAD.
