Should We Have a DD Guide?

EDIT: Wolfheinrich beat me to it. Here's his guide, which covers a little of why DDs are awesome, the lottery system, and a bit about getting them through Yahoo Japan Auctions. However, if there's interest, I may do a guide on making a custom DD, since that's where my realm of relative expertise lies.

I've noticed that every so often, and particularly lately, we've been getting posts here asking about dolls, and Dollfie Dreams specifically. I started thinking about putting together a little guide to DDs for Figure.fm because of it. So, before I plunge into the project, I thought I'd ask for opinions.

Do you think we need something like this?
Should I only cover DDs, or should I give Azone and the various resin doll lines at least a passing mention?
Should I start it with a description of DDs and why those of us who have them love them, or should I get down to brass tacks and start off with explaining where you get them?
Were there any Dollfie questions you remember having, have seen frequently, or maybe still have that you think I ought to cover?

Your input is greatly appreciated!

Picture is a quick photo of my girl Agatha--figured since I needed a picture anyway, I may as well take a shot of her with her alternate blue eyes before I switch them back to green. =P

A guide is a good idea, though I wonder if there's any sort of sticky-feature that would keep it where everyone could see it before posting their "how do I buy/adopt a daughter?" posts.

    Considering figure.fm has a Dollfie section and an Other Dolls section, you shouldn't have to worry too much about covering many different types (maybe just Dollfie Dream, Super Dollfie, Dollfie Plus, etc.?). Dollfie Dreams are really predominant on this site ^^;

And, though many people do eye the limited edition dolls, maybe a short info section on painting the heads by oneself (though Volks has a few tutorials on the topic) as to obtain a relatively "cheaper" adoption cost :P

    Great idea . . . don't forget a section on how to get the money for a DD . . . :P

I think it's a good idea. I for one am very interested! xD It'd be great if you'd cover a lil bit about other types of dolls besides Dolfies because I'm curious of the choices that are available out there. I only know of Dream of Dolls - those are really pretty. Sculpt-wise, I prefer those compared to Dolfies, actually. And I suppose you should do a short intro for the sake of those who're new to this. If you could, perhaps some comparison of quality between various brands of dolls? ^^

    Great idea.

Here are some questions that are probably frequented:

    1. Cost of DD
    2. Limited DDs, how to get them (should probably mention how steep the aftermarket price is)
    3. Doll Care Tips
    - wigs, stands, etc.
    4. Links to shops for wigs, etc.

I would say include a list of where to buy clothes that fit DDs aside from directly from volks. I'd also say include their measurements (including DDDY because when I was trying to decide on a body I couldn't find it ANYWHERE).

There's already many good resources online dedicated to Dollfie Dream, but a lot of people that learn about Dollfie Dream on figure.fm don't know where to look. You might find these links helpful :

    Dollfie Dream Flickr group :
    http://www.flickr.com/groups/dollfiedream/
Has a discussion section with over 100 posts full of DD info, also up to date DD head mold list etc... very active DD group.

    Dollfie Dream Yahoo group :
    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dollfiedream/
Not a very active group, but has an interesting files section with face-up tips, cuztomising how-to, DD clothe patterns, etc...

    Aquilla's blog
    http://aquilla429.co.uk/all-about-bjd/
Has excellent info answering most frequent DD related questions

    Den of Angels forum
    http://www.denofangels.com/forums/
Not specifically dedicated to Dollfie Dream, but has a pretty active Dollfie Dream and Mini Dollfie Dream thread, as well as Dollfie Dream "wiki" articles.

We need a sticky post! Like a Dollfie Dream Parenting Guide for Dummies XD.... Like too many times I have seen the same questions being asked, I don't like to cue the "search function" because too much information is just as good as no information.

Yeah, and since Figure.fm's "search function" is essentially Google, which determines relevance by how often something is linked to, a lot of the helpful posts on here basically get eaten pages back. >.< Even if it doesn't get "stickied", I figure it'll be nice to have something written in detail we can refer people to.

It took me a while to figure out how to use Yahoo Auction Japan, and the shopping services. Searching for stuff was difficult at first, until I figured out how to use Google Translate. A guide for this would be helpful. It also looks like there are other websites that I dont even know about yet.
