She said that the long fluffy shirt is perfect to sleep in. Whenever she puts it on she sings "FuwaFuwa Time".

She wanted to show off her pink slippers again.

Since it was the weekend I decided to have a beer or two. I used to really be into beer. Not as in being an "alcoholic" but as in being a "zymurgist". I used to brew my own beer, search out rare imports to drink, study about yeast fermentation and learn about different varieties of hops.

Yes, I was a beer geek - but not anymore. I do still pick up something to drink about 2 - 3 times a year now. This weekend it was Samuel Adams Blackberry Whitbier. Not my first choice but when you are at a grocery store with limited choice you take what you can get. (by the way, it was pretty good but if you want really good beer make sure it comes from Belgium or get one that's brewed in an Abby by monks!!!)

Sakura seemed interested in what I was drinking. "Daddy, what's that bottle your drinking from?"

I explained it to her and she wanted to try some. I let her know that I didn't think it was a good idea. "I don't know Sakura-chan, aren't you a first year in high school?"

"Don't be so silly Daddy, Fate/Stay Night came out years ago so I'm older now. Anyway, do you think 'this' is the body of a high school girl?"

Well, I couldn't argue there. There was only an inch or so left in the bottle anyway so I said she could have that. "You better have just a little, I don't know how this is going to affect you, ok?"

Well, that was my mistake. Even just an inch or so left in the bottle is way too much if you are only 1/3 scale. Sakura soon found herself taking a short break...

After her little rest she was ready to take some more shots.

I'm really working on making sure I get the eyes perfectly sharp. It's a bit hard a times as now I'm past 40, my eyes aren't as sharp as they used to be. :D

I then decided it was a good time to try something different and got out the color gels for my flashes. I tried a few different colors but ended up sticking with a strong red gel.

I only put the gel on the background flash. Even at low power it's interesting how well it colors the black cloth behind her.

Even though Sakura is about 3 feet away from the backdrop in the photos she was still getting some of the red light bounced onto her hair. If I had more room in the area I was shooting I would have set her up even farther away.

This last one is one of my favorites with the color gel on the background. I ended up bringing the power of the back flash down even a little more and it helped to keep it from trying to be more interesting than the subject I think. Plus, Sakura's eyes are so cute in this shot!!!
