Fresh from the Dark Room: BRS Black Blade
More Images from the Dark Room. The set up is the same as my Momohime post, only no TV or cell phone light, and this time featuring Black Blade BRS.
Also, for full effect save these pictures to your computer, then when you open them in the picture viewer hit 'F11' to view them full screen with a black border/background. It makes a surprising difference.

Nice strong reflection of the monitor in the blade adds a solid punch of color.

Here I aimed to get as much reflection in the folds of her coat as i could.

What it looks like when I'm taking the pictures

The room withe the lights on.
Saddly this will be my last post for a while as i've sent my camera in so the hot pixels can be mapped out and fixed (hot pixels are the opposite of dead pixels) and you can imagine with the type of pictures i apparently like to take, even a single hot pixel can stand out like crazy, and im tired of shopping them out.

I really love your low light shots, great work.
I see your using a gorillapod, how do you like them? I've thought about getting one as breaking out my big manfrotto is sometimes more than I need.
yes, i love the thing. while i rarely actuality wrap it around things like they do in the ads. It's great for table top work or just whenever you want to be really low but still stabilized. You can also stand it in places where the normal 3 leg equilateral tripod doesn't fit well.
I went ahead and got the big metal one (the one which is supposed to hold video cameras) just so i would know for a fact it would hold my camera well And it does. tho i do get the feeling that the top balls are going ot get loose with time, as they are the ones bent the most the most often.
The head of the tripod is sold separately but is also really nice. the mount point that goes on the camera is so unobtrusive that i rarely bother to take it off (it doesn't get in the way of the battery or mem card). but it has a bubble level that stick out just below the LCD. some people have asked if that's just part of the camera.
here's another picture of my camera on the gorrillapod http://www.figure.fm/post/en/7812/Learning+by+doing.html#image54835
Thanks for the info, I'm definitely going to try one out now. It's nice to be able to get low, especially photographing figures.
I'm still kicking myself for not getting the manfrotto tripod that had the "neck" (center pole) pivot out to the side and let you get into some really odd places.
Love the use of light >.<
thanks.
Cool Art! I just learn another way of photographic. =P
thanks. now be sure to pass it on too.
