New toys for Sakura-chan

Posted by otakudepot [www]

I got some packages in the mail recently for Sakura and she wanted to show them off to her friends online. :D

I was lucky enough to get some headphones last week when Volks USA had them on sale. She really needed a pair since I usually wear mine at night when watching anime, playing guitar, or listening to music. Now she can join in as well.

I'm really impressed with the look of the headphones and had to get her the pair that matched the AKG K701's that Mio wears from time to time in K-On! As soon as she opened the package she said, "Oh wow!!! Thank you Daddy! These are just like Mio-chan's."

Since she had seemed to take such an interest in my guitars I looked around to get her one of her own. It's just a tiny bit too small for her but since she's just starting to learn I guess it's a good student size.

I went with a Gibson Les Paul guitar since it's so close to Yui's - again, thinking about K-On!.

I let her know that they didn't have the same model as Yui plays but that this one is modeled after Jimmy Page's famous Les Paul. She gave me a strange look. "Jimmy who?"

Oh well, I guess Sakura isn't a rocker.

I told her that I'd try to make a guitar strap for her so she could wear it correctly when she plays.

"Yui-can is right, the guitar is so cute!!"

Well, the guitar is ok but I think Sakura is the cute one. (*^▽^*)

She is so adorable! Her outfit and headphones look perfect on her. Really great photos!

I was disappointed when I missed out on getting the headphones, especially now seeing how great they look.

Thanks. There is always Ebay to check for them. From what I've seen in the past they get a little bit pricey though.

haha, thanks. I have to remember that may not think that Hendrix, Page, or Jeff Beck are as cool as I think they are. I guess she thinks I'm just too old. :P

Congrats on getting those headphones! I just got mine in the mail today too and I bought the exact same style and color you got for Sakura! Manami told me to tell Sakura that since they now have the same headphones, they need to be friends. :3 But she also said that she is jealous because Sakura got a new guitar and she didn't. Manami will have to deal with it tho. Maybe in the future I can get her a guitar, possibly an acoustic.

Some really great pictures up there, nice detail and colors!

Thanks, congrats on getting a set for Manami as well. Sakura said she would love to be friends, she said I had to show her how to use an instant messenger program now so she can gab with Manami all day. :D

I got her the guitar from http://artstudio35.com/. It's not perfect but it looks pretty good and only cost about $40. I think Manami would look really good with an acoustic guitar. Give her a bit of a folk singer vibe. :D

Ha ha! I can sooo see these two IM'ing all day long while we are working... :3

Thanks for the link! I'll make sure to check that out. And I agree with you about the acoustic looking good with her. She enjoys antique stuff so an acoustic would fit her style better. Sakura looks great with an electric even if the scale isn't perfect. Had you not mentioned it, I wouldn't have known any different and I still think it fits her fine.

So now I suppose Sakura wants an amplifier, a mic to sing into, stage lighting..... Oh I pity your bank account sir, I really do. ^_^

Thanks Danny. What's funny is I took them with an older Nikon D70 I just bought on Ebay. Seems to work fine I guess. :D

Honestly, for an "Older" Nikon, your last pic is very clear! Don't knock the older P&S or Digis. They are only limited by the user... These days, digital media makes it much easier to just "delete" what you don't want and keep the good, so you can take 200-300+ pics, keep whats good or so-so and delete the "crap" with only your time as a cost instead of materials.... A decent trade, in my opinion, as I still take a few dozen or more pics before I post here... It's all trial and error, honestly... Great shots, sir, Keep going!

Oh, I agree totally. I got the D70 used on Ebay for about $230. I wanted it because it has a very high flash sync speed but the quality of the images are still very good. It's 6.1 megapixel so the quality is pretty good and I'm mostly using it with a prime 50mm f/1.8 that's very sharp and only costs about $100.

Very low cost way to get some quality shots. The only down side of the D70 is the user menu is a bit clunky, not a nice as on my D60 but that's not a minor issue. I also agree with taking a ton of shots and only keeping the good ones. I have a ton of garbage shots I don't post. :D
