Night time photographic

Posted by papermoon

never be afraid to take photos at night, i used to stop once it got dark, i wondered why my shots in low light were blured and my camera felt slow to take a shot.

there was a time when i knew nothing about photographic, i was a auto setting point and shot man. no clue what F spot, ISO or shutter speed were, i used to wonder what those number where on my P&S camera. what changed it for me were the fact i was going on holidays more and therefore wanted a camera that can do night time shot. i picked up a Lumix G1 cuz it was the newest tech at the time and was smaller and lighter than the competition. the following shots r from my G1. advice i can give about night photographic, even the crappies cameras can do it - u dont need an DLSR. all u need is a tripod (a small tripod that can fit into our pocket is best) or use our environment (like a bin or small wall etc) to stabilize our camera. set ur camera on 2 second take were ur camera will take the shot 2 seconds after u press down the shutter. the reason why shots come out blurred is because our hand is shaking while ur taking the photo. sometime i would take photo hand held to which i would take about 4 shots, - 3 will come out blurred but luck if one comes out fine.

These are really some fantastic shots you got. You really captured some great exposures. I also love the 2nd photo of those huge clouds in the night sky over the city. Some of the shots where you are looking down onto the city could be right out of a big Hollywood movie. Great sense of scale.

Damn, Kipang anime makes me view this ship in a whole new light haha. Looking nice either way. Also liking the carrier/transport next to it ^^.

Great night images. I should take more of them as well.
