Rin's Japan Loot 2010

Posted by Rin [www]

After a long time organizing and taking photos, I'm finally finished with my Japan loot post from my trip to Japan. This year wasn't as much as last years Japan loot post due to the fact that this trip was last minute. Still, I did spend a lot. Once again, a lot of my loot didn't fit in one photo. Even though with a bigger place, still can't fit it all in one picture. I didn't go all out due to my budget not being like last years jumbo budget. I still spent a good amount and bought back a good amount of stuff this year. I predict going back to the land of otaku-ness next year for Comiket 80 with a bigger budget then this year and with a larger loot then any of my years to Japan!!! As I say to everyone who goes to Japan, don't hold back no matter what when shopping in Japan!!!

For complete detailed list and cost of my loot, please head over to my blog.

My loot contains:
Figures - 16
CDs - 31
Manga - 11
Model Kits - 3
Doujinshi - 108
Magazines - 8
Artbooks - 10
Dakimakura - 2
Wallscrolls - 6
Posters - 18
Calendar - 1
Clock - 1
Anime Bags - 22
Games - 2 [One not in photo]
Iphone Case - 1
Canon DSLR - 1
Guitar - 1

This year I had only 12 boxes shipped home compared to last years 28 boxes. Well, I didn't have that much of a budget to begin with but I did have a reasonable amount I say.

Total Cost of Loot with Shipping: 670000yen
Total Cost of Shipping: 140000yen
Total Cost without Shipping: 530000yen
It's still a lot of money but not as much as last year.
Hope you all enjoy the photos!!!

As expected. I am thoroughly impressed. Though I have to wonder, with a 'small' budget of 670000 yen, what kind of serious dough you must be making~ (^O^)

QUESTION!!! What is that Baka Test box about? Really curious~

That's a very impressive amount of loot. At 140000yen, shipping is a killer. Maybe next time you can bring a large empty suitcase to fold some of the smaller items.

As I always ask with such huuge hauls: didn't the customs man rip you off in taxes for that much loot? Or is that included in the shipping cost? Plus, I thought Canadian customs were really problematic when bringing in 'ecchi' goods?

As expected (from reading your blog) this is huuuuuge. How do you go about shipping it back? Is that cheaper than buying online?
Also, I don't understand why you bought your guitar whilst in Japan? Couldn't you have just got the same model in a shop (or even online) back at home? And saved all that shipping costs?

I didn't ship my guitar home. I brought it along with my on the plane. Also for some reason, stores in Toronto can't order a 69 Mustang. They can order a 65 Mustang though.
Shipping all depends in Japan. They measure by weight. I say it's cheaper buying it there then online.

It's not my first guitar. This is my 3rd guitar I own. I already have a 65 Fender Mustang and a Gibson SG (Same model and Color as Yuki Nagato's guitar).
Actually about the boxes, my hotel provided them and there was actually a post office in the lobby so I just box them up in my hotel room and bring them down and ship it out.

            Oh, thats really handy!
Not a big fan of the Gibson SGs, they look really nice (especially in shiny red) but they are weighted all wrong and feel funny to me...

WOW! That does look like Azusa's! I mean I just got a smaller scale version of it, and damn it sure looks like it. How'd you bring that home?

And of course a lot of loot as usual ^^; I would stick to only a few series I'd get if I was to get something, but of course once you get there it's hard to resist anything XD

Could you please make a review on those K-ON! nendoroid plus charms please >.<?!!! I'm hesitating to buy them. I don't have too much money to spend right now and I'm trying to save up for other figures. I got a Fate Testarossa nendoroid plus charm and I gotta say I love the quality that's why I wanted more nenplus charms but I found some pics of the K-ON! charms and they don't look so good... Are they really worth to buy?
    Awesome loot BTW!!!
