Rin's Japan Loot 2010
After a long time organizing and taking photos, I'm finally finished with my Japan loot post from my trip to Japan. This year wasn't as much as last years Japan loot post due to the fact that this trip was last minute. Still, I did spend a lot. Once again, a lot of my loot didn't fit in one photo. Even though with a bigger place, still can't fit it all in one picture. I didn't go all out due to my budget not being like last years jumbo budget. I still spent a good amount and bought back a good amount of stuff this year. I predict going back to the land of otaku-ness next year for Comiket 80 with a bigger budget then this year and with a larger loot then any of my years to Japan!!! As I say to everyone who goes to Japan, don't hold back no matter what when shopping in Japan!!!
For complete detailed list and cost of my loot, please head over to my blog.
My loot contains:
Figures - 16
CDs - 31
Manga - 11
Model Kits - 3
Doujinshi - 108
Magazines - 8
Artbooks - 10
Dakimakura - 2
Wallscrolls - 6
Posters - 18
Calendar - 1
Clock - 1
Anime Bags - 22
Games - 2 [One not in photo]
Iphone Case - 1
Canon DSLR - 1
Guitar - 1
This year I had only 12 boxes shipped home compared to last years 28 boxes. Well, I didn't have that much of a budget to begin with but I did have a reasonable amount I say.
Total Cost of Loot with Shipping: 670000yen
Total Cost of Shipping: 140000yen
Total Cost without Shipping: 530000yen
It's still a lot of money but not as much as last year.
Hope you all enjoy the photos!!!

Wow astounding loot. Its this what my dream looks like? ;.;
There would be bigger...like last years loot!!!
Wow. Just wow.
Good stuff Rin~
Now I need to go find someplace selling those Touhou Project wallscrolls XD
I know Comiket C-Clays booth sells those. Also Gamers sells them!!!
I wonder if i could spend this much... My maximum might be just the 20% of your overall loot... >.<
Save up as much as you can then buy what you want when you get there!!!
As expected. I am thoroughly impressed. Though I have to wonder, with a 'small' budget of 670000 yen, what kind of serious dough you must be making~ (^O^)
QUESTION!!! What is that Baka Test box about? Really curious~
It's a clock of Hideyoshi that I won at a UFO machine...
DAMN. O_O
You don't hold back, do you? :)
Do you save up your money to splurge on a trip to Japan, every year? xD
I'd love to do that when I'm older too.
I save as much as I can for my trips to Japan!!!
Then just splurge there!!!
Just as work as much as you can and save up!!!
Mutton!!
You dropped 1600 CAD on a camera because your old one died? Holy cow. How many SLRs have you gone through now.
2 DSLR...
Epic loot! Gratz with them.
Awesome loot :O Doesn't the massive shipping costs kill you a little inside? T^T
It does...somewhat...my wallet hurts!!!
That's a very impressive amount of loot. At 140000yen, shipping is a killer. Maybe next time you can bring a large empty suitcase to fold some of the smaller items.
Actually, a suitcase sometimes kill the items. I just don't like putting my loot in checked baggage...
god...
You sir, have my respect. Shipping must've left a painful hole in your wallet.
It was!!! It really was...
Holy shit! That's some big loot. And it's still a lot of money. @@ And you're aiming for a even LARGER loot? That sounds like an ultimate Otaku heaven to me.
Cause in Japan, there are a ton of things you want but being on a budget, you can't get them all!!!
Honest question. What do you do for a living?
Was only wondering, didn't think I'd get an answer. Sorry to bother you though.
bahahhahahaah epic fail there my friend
Daaaamn, i want a Mustang!
Wow. man. wher eu get all teh money from cause this gotta hurt...
The new mustang lkooks nice lol
Wow, that's a hell of a lot of cool stuff!
How on earth did you fund all that? o_o
Save up...I just saved up as much as I can...
Oh my god....you spent like € 6200 on that!! That's more than twice what my first trip (tour) next year is probalby gonna cost....
As I always ask with such huuge hauls: didn't the customs man rip you off in taxes for that much loot? Or is that included in the shipping cost? Plus, I thought Canadian customs were really problematic when bringing in 'ecchi' goods?
I did pay a bit of customs but they didn't look in my boxes...
The only ecchi goods I had were my T2 doujins...
Wow... That's a amazing...
*wants so much of that*
Gaaah!! I want this!! Where to order online...? T_T
You can try to find it at Mandarake's online store...but it might cost quite a bit...
Want~
Ow,670000 yen is a killer amount, hope you taped up your wallet properly.
Impressive loot! As always :) makes me feel like I need bigger dreams
YEA! Taiwan pride!
Kyonoko spotted?
Yes, there's a Kyonko doujinshi!!!
Impressive loot but you must live on instant ramen all year long to be able to spend that much on loot, not counting airfare, hotel and meals in Tokyo.
I doubt it would cost that much because you can fly The Magic School Bus, sleep in an alley with a dead cat, and also feast on it to save a few yen.
^okay, I lol'd
I didn't live on instant noodles...
I live at home with my family which helped a lot in saving up.
How did you get all that stuff back home?
I shipped it home with EMS...
Hideyoshi <3
WANT! I can't find any online store that's selling them.
wow... very impressive lot... but what i'm really wondering about is not how much you make to get all that, rather how on earth do you find space to FIT all that.
anyhow, I can't find that info about "Ochanomizu" to import guitars.. can you post a link please?
thanks
I brought my guitar along with me on the plane as carry on.
There's no way I'll put my guitar into checked baggage.
For Ochanomizu info here:

im wondering , how rich are you anyways?
I'm not!!!
I just work and save up!!!
Nice!~ You got Nana's IMPACT EXCITER!!
Yup and it's the limited edition of it too!!!
Arrgg! I want these mo! Are they even out for pre order?
Hm, I these straps were only sold at a special BRS event. D;
Actually, they were sold at WonFes as one of my friends told me...
I want this sooo badly~!! (>_<)
It's an expensive camera. It's a great camera but expensive.
As expected (from reading your blog) this is huuuuuge. How do you go about shipping it back? Is that cheaper than buying online?
Also, I don't understand why you bought your guitar whilst in Japan? Couldn't you have just got the same model in a shop (or even online) back at home? And saved all that shipping costs?
I didn't ship my guitar home. I brought it along with my on the plane. Also for some reason, stores in Toronto can't order a 69 Mustang. They can order a 65 Mustang though.
Shipping all depends in Japan. They measure by weight. I say it's cheaper buying it there then online.
Ah right, cool. Is it your first guitar?
Do you box everything up before you go to the post office? And do they understand English?
It's not my first guitar. This is my 3rd guitar I own. I already have a 65 Fender Mustang and a Gibson SG (Same model and Color as Yuki Nagato's guitar).
Actually about the boxes, my hotel provided them and there was actually a post office in the lobby so I just box them up in my hotel room and bring them down and ship it out.
Oh, thats really handy!
Not a big fan of the Gibson SGs, they look really nice (especially in shiny red) but they are weighted all wrong and feel funny to me...
I say it's alright...but still love my Fender Mustang!!! It's a great guitar!!!
do you even play the guitar....mega lol if you dont
WOW! That does look like Azusa's! I mean I just got a smaller scale version of it, and damn it sure looks like it. How'd you bring that home?
And of course a lot of loot as usual ^^; I would stick to only a few series I'd get if I was to get something, but of course once you get there it's hard to resist anything XD
I took it with me on the plane as carry-on!!!
It is the exact same color and model as Azusa's...
Could you please make a review on those K-ON! nendoroid plus charms please >.<?!!! I'm hesitating to buy them. I don't have too much money to spend right now and I'm trying to save up for other figures. I got a Fate Testarossa nendoroid plus charm and I gotta say I love the quality that's why I wanted more nenplus charms but I found some pics of the K-ON! charms and they don't look so good... Are they really worth to buy?
Awesome loot BTW!!!
I feel like I don't want to spend as much as you, I always spend on what I really want including figures even I'm in tight budget and very awesome loot collections! >.<)b
Still a lot of money you spend off in Japan! O_O
I can rest in peace now :')
This is more than what I spent when I lived in Japan xD You're amazing!!
