Doll meet in Greensboro, NC

Happy Labor Day to all those in the US! Today we celebrate... um... labor!
Last Saturday, I packed up Rin and Sakura to go to a doll meet at The Doll Market in Greensboro, NC. I met up with balldylox and DeadlyGambit and had a great time taking pictures! Rin, Sakura, and Manami represented the Dollfie Dream crowd in the sea of resins!

Cool! How big was the whole doll meet?
It was pretty big... but not like when we host the one in Raleigh. The Doll Market was packed for their Sweet 16 event, though. But great DD miniatures were found there!
There were about 15 of us that went. There was a big event at the Doll Market for non ABJDs, but we got plenty of attention sitting in the back corner with our dolls. We have to help spread the word about them!
Yes! Many questions were asked about DD's, so we all spread the love!
The girls were very popular at the store. And that place is enormous! Such a huge place, I had never seen one store so large that catered to dolls only... very impressive.
I had a blast up there and I plan to go to a Raleigh meet soon. I just have to stay away from doll stores and Patti's so that I don't get pushed into buying stuff again! :)
It was really great meeting Nicole and Ed, thanks for being so nice to me guys!

Yeah, there are meets all over the place! Even though I live in a decent sized city, I did have to go a couple hours for this weekend's meet!
You can find meets all over on DoA. It seems like everyone has one, now! Almost feels mainstream!

We had a great time socializing with other folks! The best part was that we didn't just talk about dolls, I met some folks who are really into photography, Star Trek, and anime! I think I also spread some unwanted influence on one girl... she was working on dolls based on various Trek characters, and I sort of convinced her that Mari would be perfect for creating Jadzia Dax from ST:DS9... She now hates me for planting that idea into her head. XD
Oh you did *way* more than just give her slight influence Ed. :D I think you drove her to the brink of sanity and she was close to snapping. But man did I enjoy watching you do it! LOL

Yup! I have been shaving my head since I was 22 so the name fits for sure. ^_^
Heh, I know the feeling of being the only person with vinyl in a sea of resin. However, I usually wind up with people going "Huh, that's what those vinyl Volks and Obitsu dolls look like! They're pretty cool. Maybe I'll add one to my dollieh get list!" Then again when Danny had his CGM Night event in LA there was one lone resin doll on the doll table. And of course, Z was the only boy amid all the girls. ^^

The most common comment about a vinyl is how light they are. They weight nothing compared to a resin doll!
And that is super good for me, because I've got injury to my neck and shoulders and I'd probably be unable to deal with four resin dolls the way I deal with my four vinyl buddies.
A Dollzone MSD sized doll is not very heavy, nor or any Yo-SD dolls so you could probably carry one or two of those with little to no problems. However a doll like my Alisa (a Two.S Doll with is like an SD10) would probably kill you just carrying ONE of her around. ^^; I do miss having a vinyl buddy, though.
Yeah, Yo-SDs are so tiny. Maybe sometime in the future you'll get another DD or maybe an Obitsu.
I'm hoping for another DD. Manami, Rin, Yoko, and Sakura need another friend to hang out with on our meets!

Most meets are geared towards resins! DDs are definitely the minority, despite what you see here... XD

Just so everyone knows, I was *forced* into buying this wig by Ed and Nicole. :) But I do like it....
No, you weren't forced to buy anything! We just needed someone to try the wig on, and since both Rin and Sakura were using wig caps, they'd be a pain to have to redo!

While I do understand your logic, I don't think that was the first order of business. :) but I'm glad I got it and the other one as they both look great on Manami. But you better not try that when we visit Ikea or I'll have to kill you.....
Look at this awesome looking display cabinet! It even has drawers for you to put accessories in!
I so hate you right about now.... :^P
Oh, and they have these great drawer organizers that can be used to compartmentalize things out... XD
^^ And the Swedish meatballs... don't forget the tastey noms that are there, too... and don't they also have great display cases for figures? Ryomou would feel like she's in a museum devoted to her with one!
SILENCE ED! O_o By the way, I have the thumbs up to borrow the extended bed 4 door truck for my next trip up. Wink wink. And yes Nicole, the cases like Ed has would be great for my Ryomou shrine. Unfortunately, I don't have space for one right now. :( I dont know where I'd be able to put one if I got it. Maybe I can ditch the bed in the guest room.....
