Sorry, I am not going… have more important things going on that day.
CAN NEVER HAVE!!! It sucks so much to be from Canada sometimes.... is this the price we have to pay to have a decent society?!
Agreed.
I agree too!!! Why can't we have some of the good stuff sometimes...
maybe Saki Fujita can come to the anime cons someday,then we can all see the "real Miku".
So cool! Wish I could go, but with finals the week after it's really not feasible for me to go out for a 7 hour drive. ;_; Maybe if this one does well enough they'll take the show elsewhere. . .
its just footage from the concert, not the actual 3D
i live in SF, new people is too small for that kind of 3D and it says so on their website.
Once again, another thing that really makes me hate being in the good old British Isles, I'd kill to go! Well, not kill someone literally, but you know.
How come the West Coast always gets all the good stuff... T_T
Funny thing. The other day, my brother was talking about how his goddess Kylie Minogue was going to do another tour of the US, and if he missed it again he'd weep and spiral into a never ending pit of depression or something like that.
I did not understand how one could feel that way, just for missing a concert.
Until he said this:
Bro: "Okay, what if there was a Miku concert in the US, and you missed it?"
Me: "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU. I'd die. And cry.. But that's not gonna happen. She'll never have a concert in the US anyway."
/cry.
Though perhaps my uncontrollable love and obsession for Miku is making me blow this concert out of proportion.
Looking over the info, it seems like it's not going to be as amazing as I perceive. And obviously not as great as the real thing that happened in Zepp Tokyo.
It kind of sounds like they're just gonna play the BD disc of the concert in a small revenue, lol. 143 seats sounds tinyyy.
Yes, it is just the video of the concert.
I saw the video of her concert at Zepp Tokyo. There is no way the american audience is going to draw even half the crowd in comparison.
I wish I could go.
This is the same video of the concert.
Then I'm not missing anything other than interacting with other fans.
Thanks for the news, more money to spend. >.<;
I probably will be going, with a friend or 2. Does anyone want to meet up for there, for those who can go? Might bring the DC Paper Flag along again.
It's funny how the people around here don't want to go, but others want to but can't....then re-read and see that it's only showing a film of the concert then get disappointed. ^ ^;
Instead of going just for the purpose of watching, I would go to check out the people who are going as well as the promo poster....Need more posters in my room.
I know, it’s one thing to watch the video at home, but to watch it in a theater with a large crowd is a different experience. I plan on seeing 5 Centimeters per Second and Detroit Metal City, for the crowd AND the freebies.
I agree too, I watched both Gurren Lagann movies in Anime Expo and the crowd was just completely insane! (in a good way) it made the movies 1000x more awesome. I certainly wouldn't have had that experience watching them by myself.
I didn't enjoy watching Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu with about 10 other people. No way that I can handle a crowd.
If's a film on a concert then a crowd is fitting, but I would never do so with a movie...and it gets on my nerves when people pronounce anime wrong.
It really depends on having the right crowd, the right movie and well, being pumped up.
If you can't handle a crowd cheering and such in a movie, then yes it's not going to be enjoyable to watch it. In my meager experience, the screening of the TTGL movies in AX10 was AWESOME because the movies were great and filled with energy, which in turn filled us all with it.
I'm just wondering, but what does people pronouncing anime wrong have anything to do with what we're talking? did you hear people in the Haruhi movie pronouncing things wrong? I think you should give them a little more slack; we all started like that at some point.
I say give it another chance, you never know who you'll meet! ^^ unless you really can't stand being in a crowd.
For a movie, I wouldn't like to watch it with others. I wouldn't want any disturbance while I am watching the movie, not even a cough. That's for most of the time. But for a film of a concert, I think that shouting and cheering would be appropriate...even if it's just a film. ^ ^;
Well, not me. I never pronounced anime wrong since I had Japanese class with a real Japanese teacher in the 7th grade. I completely understand how people pronounce it wrong though. I don't blame them, as long as they are willing to change. The problem is that i can't possibly talk to everyone. I also met a person that was so stubborn that it was very annoying.
Of course, I will give it more chances! I am kind of an anti-social and a pessimist... but I am always trying to do the positive. The more comrades the better.
Anyways, me and friends will be going tomorrow. I will be holding my DC flag which I made for the Sakura Matsuri. See you all there. [The DC Paper Flag] - http://flawlessexa.wordpress.com/2010/04/22/dc-flag-wip/
It would be cool to have a meet up. I'll probably head to J-town for the concert as well as just to look at the whole festival. I heard that they would be selling the Blu-ray at the concert as well so I'll probably pick that up if that is true. I'm still kind of interested seeing the concert on the big screen.
Hmmm...maybe. I was thinking of visiting Japantown this weekend, but maybe I'll wait a week. I wish it was more than just footage of the concert!
I used to live two blocks away -- I really miss going all the time. >_<
aww lucky guys :D , but its actually good that Mikus presence is being spread!
Wow!!! I read about the concert this morning, I didn't realize that it would be using the video from that amazing concert in Japan!!! Now I'm 100x more jealous of the people who can go! There's no way I'll be able to make it to San Fran by next week. On a positive note, I'd like to add how SUPER-HAPPY I am that Miku is getting recognized in the US. Hopefully an East Coast concert (NYC or Otakon perhaps?) is not too far away. If they will be re-using that projection in San Francisco, it's possible (likely?) that they'll do it again!
This is just the video footage of the concert from March 9, 2010 at Zepp Tokyo Odaiba in Tokyo.
haha yeah, I read that after I posted. Silly me. It's still cool though
Looks really cool. We need a concert in L.A.
uhh...lols?
I'll cry manly tears if I have the chance to go for that concert
lol will it be 3D or there no use see miku on a normal cinema movie :p
WE WANT hologram :p
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a heavy metal concert right that weekend!!! WHY!? WHYYYYYY??!?!?!
oh, if it's just a showing of a bluray, then meh, not worth going imo
I wouldn't mind seeing it on a bigger screen and if people don't want to buy the Blu-Ray either. Anyway, too far for me and I already ordered the Blu-Ray XD
O_________O I wish i was there nyaaah
Wow! That vid is awesome! If not for the lights passing through her, she would look really real.
Does anybody have the blu-ray? Is it the same footage as what's on youtube?
The actual concert looked amazing, but for some reason the grainy youtube videos are kind of meh.
Why can't it be closer to me ;.;
i want to go to her concert. ^_^
... Well, I know I will be going. Even if there isn't a line or a crowd, I am going to be playing Project Diva 2nd in the theater before it starts. Can't wait till next Saturday to go.
... And money to burn x_x
Luckily for me, I was able to check out this event in SF, since I live in nearby Marin County. It was definitely great seeing Miku-chan's, Luka-san's, Rin-chan's, and Len-kun's performance, although I do agree that it would have been much better if it was an actual concert instead of just a screening of the video footage of the concert. Alas, the otaku population in SF or even California is too small to justify organizing an event of that scale. Also, it was definitely a shame that Kaito-kun and Meiko-san weren't in the show.
they should bring a concert to chicago during anime central :O cause i would DEFINATELY GO!!!!!
