NYAF Minorin Autograph Info

OK, just heard back from NYAF regarding Minori Chihara’s (茅原実里) autograph signing at New York Anime Festival.

1) VIP’s do NOT get priority placement in line.
2) She will only sign ONE item per person.
3) It is a ticketed event and only a certain number of tickets will be given out.

More information regarding Minorin’s autograph session will be available next week @ newyorkanimefestival.com.

And… here are the last 2 video messages from Minorin:
Minori Chihara On "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya"

Minori Chihara on New York City

So, for those of you who are going…
What one item do you want Minorin to sign for you?
I may just have her sign a shikishi. I cannot choose just one CD/DVD cover, that is impossible.
Opinions? Thoughts? Concerns?

I guess my plan to have her sign my Gekisou Yuki figure box is still good then. Only regret is that I will probably never take the actual figure out once I have it signed. ~~

if the base can actually be signed, you should do that instead of the box
boxes are easily damaged, but bases, unless your house burns down, or is flooded, or some volcanic ash hits them, it should last longer

Ya, I was thinking about the base. It's black but then I remember there are white markers for autographs too. XD Guess I will go grab a white marker from Staples just to make sure she can sign it if I'm lucky enough to grab a autograph ticket.

from my experience at AX they have a few different autograph markers. But if you want a specific color or something, I am sure ti will be a great idea to bring that yourself.

Also I do recall some seiyu (more specifically, one of my goddess', Asakawa Yuu) being like "omg. can I really !? SUGOI!" when signing someone elses figure base. So I am sure she would love to sign it.

So, I should just bring the whole figure there and just take out the base out of the box for her to sign?

I knew it would be the same rules as last year for all the guest of honors. One good thing is that for the VIP ticket holders can come in 2 hours before the doors open for the public so we will have a good chance to get those autographs passes which is very limited, probably no more than 200 passes will be hanged out. I would like her to sign the base of my figures too but then again when you put the figures on the base the name gets cut blocked. So perhaps a figma would be better. ;)

So, we have to go to a certain booth for the autograph ticket?

          Perhaps. Or perhaps other stuff.

At anime expo this year, I got a ticket to the Konoshi signing. The tickets were actually being handed out to the first 100 people to buy the Gurenn Lagaan movie at the Bandai booth.

There of course is the whole going to panel gets you priority ticket thing too. I doubt it is that though. It's probably something more controlled like the ticket event I got to do. You should hit the conventions forums up and see what you can dig up. It would also help to see if she was booked through a certain company. (Example Bandai + Konishi and Haruhi english cast or NIS bringing down Horie Yui and Eri Kitamura. ) I am more than positive she is there on behalf of Bandai.

So following what they did with Konisihi - I am betting buy Haruhi season 2 set and get ticket. Or maybe if your really lucky, the Disappearance of Haruhi dvd/bd as a special prerelease thing.

Yes, Bandai is responsible for her appearance.
That would be f***ed up if they made us BUY something to get an autograph ticket… why not just sell us the ticket, then. Hopefully they won’t… but if I have to, I will… anything for Minorin!

Well it probably won't be forcing you to buy the season 2 set after seeing the price. But I don't doubt it will be on a first come first serve bonus with purchase kind of thing like with the TTGL Movie thing. But it pretty much makes it so that only those who REALLY want her autograph or fans of the Haruhi series get their signing. Bandai seems to be a super awesome company though from my con experience with them when it comes to the fans. They really know how to hook an otaku up.

They hang out autograph passes ( looks like a business card type ) early in the morning and then depend on the schedule they will tell you the time and panel where the autograph session will take place.

So I'm guessing there is gonna be a booth inside for the autograph tickets? Like when does it start usually?

It's not a booth. Guest of honors have their own panels in a separate room where there are lots of seats and ppl who wants autographs can line up at the end of the panel with their passes. The time depends on the schedule book that will be hand to you at the start of the convention.
