If Mirai was a Warrior - Fanart

Just wanted to share. Been doodling this in school for a day or two now... though this is all I've got. I tried to have it scanned, but the shop's scanner seems to be a bit low-end so resolution ain't as good as my usual scanning machine. Anyway, here it is!
I used Mirai's ":O" Face as reference to her face. I couldn't think of anything else that would be a good giveaway that she's suppose to represent Mirai. Also, her signature braids had been tied in with ribbons. The main themes I used were - the cliche golden metallic borders on the armors, wings, crosses, and such. As you may notice, her gauntlets are different. The original plan was to have her equip a giant shield with her left hand instead of a sword - but unfortunately, I can't get the right perspective point to make a shield.
A breakdown of what I had conceptualized - her right sword is the Seraphim (consisting of 8 wings around its blade), her left sword is her default weapon. She has individually designed left and right greaves which gives her better mobility by evening out the weights of her swords. It's not finish yet, but that cross on the picture's right side is suppose to be where she sheaths her swords... but I couldn't find time to finish the drawing anymore. XD
I also tried to extract the lineart from this so that everyone can try out coloring it. Though sadly, (because of the bad quality scanning), my usual GIMP-method couldn't extract an even decent lineart. So if any of you guys wanna tinker with it, be free to do so. ^___^ Just please do link down at the comments so I can see the awesomeness you create. XD
Finally, I'm also planning to make a variation of this drawing. A Heavy-Armor suit since this armor is a bit too revealing, so it's hard to believe that she's ready for battle. XD A full-body heavy armor variation would be nice.

Whooaa that's amazing bit of drawing :)
Thank you so much! ^___^
Awesome concept but you may need to work on the perspectives of her left leg and left forearm... ^_^
I've given up on learning Midgeting - applying heavy perspective on human body parts. So it's quite obvious on her left forearm, but I'm pretty confident about her left leg. I think the problem with the left leg isn't Midgeting, I think I made a mistake with the greave's facing.
I was actually in a state of thought for a bit. At first, I was thinking that my perspective on her left forearm was wrong, but I realized that it might've been an illusion from her huge Armored Gloves... so I didn't bother trying to improve it. XD
Nice artwork, looks forward to the heavy armor version.
Will work on it! *TRY*
I gotta be honest here, the anatomy is all outta whack. Her right leg is bigger than her left (don't bring up the "it's perspective" excuse please) while her left boob is bigger than her right. O___o I hope you can take this bit of criticism, learn and adapt.
another thing is the left arm that's holding the sword, it looks very unnatural. try to visualize or watch sumone actually doing the pose then copy off that.
I'm sorry, but the only thing I can really accept is that the boob has quite the inconsistency. XD As with her legs, that's obviously perspective. If you look at her ankles down, you can see the trend that she's walking 7 o'clock away from the vantage point. I was trying to achieve a decent non-linear art, and I think the perspective is correct.
I'm actually going to have to agree with Spliff here, I see what you were trying to do, but due to the direction you have her torso and feet facing in, the midgeting is completely lost and it just looks like you made her have one tiny, crippled leg and one normal one. I really can understand the mistakes with her boob and her arm, it's really just a learning experience, but her leg looks all kinds of wrong.
I really hope that you can take everyone's advice on this, The rest of it actually looks quite good, it's just that her legs throw it all of in a very surprising and not good way. If you've given up on midgeting, then at least use regular proportions until you are will to attempt it once more. Good luck!
Thanks for the advice though. Like I mentioned in a comment above, I've given up on the skill of Midgeting to create exagerated human body perspective - meaning that left arm is the best I can do for now, and I'm not planning to linger much on mastering Midgeting. I still wanna improve on my Cloth Seams.
Great work!
Thanks Danny! ^__^
You mean if mirai was bandai namco character *jokes* Shes looks very soulcalibur-ish, did you draw inspiration from soulcalibur 4?
I had no inspiration, though in fact, if you look closely, it does resemble a few past characters. My mind is mashed, so I guess the armor is too - though now that you mentioned it, there is a bit of Soul Calibur in there. XD
In a nutshell, I realized that there are resemblances from: Sailor Moon for the torso armor, Saber of Fate/Stay Night for her skirt armor, the usual Border design for the overall physique of her armor, Leing of QB for the belts, and probably some ninja thingie for her right glove. XD
***Leina of QB for the belts...
The best mash up I've seen on here in a while, would love to see a fully coloured version. And if you refined the artwork a bit it like other people have mentioned she could easily fit in soulcalibur.
really nice work i simply love it^^
Are you going to colour it????
I would've colored her if I knew how to do digital art... but sadly, I can only do traditional colored pencils. XD Want to give her a whirl?
Light armor all the way! Heavy armor denies me the beauty of Mirai :3
That's ideally why I'm kind of hesitant. The only way I can bring out "Mirai" with a heavy armor is with... armored braids. XD Which is kind of weird.
Or how about if you moe-ified the heavy armor. Some ideas can be found in mecha musume.
Before the heavy armored version, I think a colored version should be seen~! :3
This armor itself its too heavy. I think what she needs now is a leather one
That's a very nice work, looking forward to your next work!
