I miss Tofu Records too... Importing cd's is expensive. At least Japan Files and Maru Music are still around.
I'm not familiar with those companies? are they American based and release/manage Japanese Artist? any famous acts?

I'm just glad to meet another Jrock/pop fan! I think Maru Music is promoting the Luna Sea world tour.
Jrock/pop is life (been hooked for about the last 7-8 yrs). My finacee loves Luna Sea and we're going to CA for the weekend to see them in DEC. and I saw Shonen Knife last Saturday, they rocked it.

I'm thinking of taking a bus down to NYC and catching the VAMPS and X Japan concerts in October
forgot about X Japan, going to that too, got a taste Sugizo and Yoshiki at Otakon and will be there too. My thing is if there's a Japanese artist that I like in NYC, I have to see them, So far I've seen Rie Fu, Utada, DJ Krush, Home Made Kazoku, The Yoshida Brotehrs and Puffy all live. I would recommend seeing VAMPS and X Japan if you have the chance or you may end up regretting it later. I skipped on the Yoshida Bros once and hated myself for it but luckily they showed up at Otakon.
