How long have you been collecting dolls?: 6 months
Why did you start collecting?: Although I had seen photos online here and there, it wasn't until Danny Choo started posting about Dollfies which attracted more doll owners to figure.fm and a proliferation of Dollfie Dream material that I started to look at them more seriously. Initially was hesitant as I did not like the joints, but seeing the great photography results achieved with Dollfie Dream subjects and more online friends succumb to the Dollfie mania, eventually caved in and took the plunge.
Where do you adopt (buy) your dolls?: Yahoo! Japan Auction, Volks Japan and Mandarake
How much money have you spent on your doll hobby?: Roughly 1000 € (Euro) per DD (This includes additional outfits, wigs, shipping fees,...)
What sort of doll events do you attend?: None, our small country does not seem to hold any.
What is so special about dolls?: Considering my interest in photography and anime figures, Dollfie Dream ball jointed dolls are a direction, an evolution which does not come entirely unnatural. Their size and endless customization possibilities allow one to infuse a personality into the dolls which can make them transcend static statues into vivid photography subjects.
You can adapt your doll with new eyes, wigs, outfits and create a whole new personality for it. Other than default Volks character dolls, custom face-ups allow you to create a truly one of a kind doll.
What I like most is that at the end of the day, they bring a smile to my face, and that's what matters.
These are my two lovely DD girls, Shizuko and Yoko.

Wanted to go out and make photos earlier but we had rain/overcast weather all week, only today was it sunny enough though as you can see from Shizuko's unkempt hair, there was a lot of wind.

Thanks! With the poor weather wasn't able to get any photos with monuments or such until earlier today.
Don't mind my mugshot, it's from last weekend when I had the flu. ^^;;
So where abouts is that big thing anyhow? I recognise the shape, but not the monument itself lol

Yeah, there's a small park with miniatures of European monuments/cities nearby.
It's the police! I swear officer, I did not know this DD girl was 16. She told me she was 21... and I though yeah, 18 sure but I swear I didn't know. I'm not a lolicon! Really!

Am glad I fought and won the auction battle for Shizuko's custom head, really clicked when I saw it on YJA and haven't regretted it since.

Had to go for a simple setup as I used predefined settings and the release timer. (Had no one with any photography skills to help to make that mugshot of me. XD )

I had to use a tripod, adjust the focus, to take a self portrait as well. And it was pretty difficult~ (><).

this swoop of hair is soooo cheeky
It has a will of its own! It used to curl inwards under the side bangs but nowadays I try and brush it over with an upwards curl. Did need tome Wig Mist to style it and get it to fixate more.
Great shots you got of your girls - and yourself! That last photo of you and the girls really turned out great.
I can't get over how much I love Yoko's wig. I think I've mentioned it before on Flickr but it's just so beautiful on her.

Its a very nice wig. The Leeke LR-015_E (ChocoBrown color here). If you ever order from Leeke, it's worth grabbing that wig, even as an extra since you can style it easily to look totally different from how it's shown here.
Very cool photos! Shizuko amd Yoko is very cute! Your photo whit daughters get pretty well, for me was very difficult to take and choose... I not good to photos of myself...

Yoko was pretty safe up on that rock, thanks to it's tier leveled top, it made a perfect sitting block and it's a rather thick rock too.
