    Just watched it as well.
I was glad the Intro was condensed, but they could've at least shown the trigger of entering the UBW route.. (Not injuring Archer iirc) It just skipped everything after Saber's summoning and went straight for the end of the church part (Rejoice, Emiya Shirou~!).
Was nice to see everything animated, but I noticed they jumped around a lot from one scene to another.
Having read the novel, I already know whats supposed to be there, but it might be confusing for an Anime-only viewer.

Also disappointed that you never heard the full UBW chants. Both Archers and Shirou's.
Shinji was as pathetic as always though and Lancer a manly BAMF.

As for if you should watch the series first..
You get to learn the characters and setting *a little* better and the movie fast-forwards the common-stuff.
But I advise to read the Visual Novel, because the TV Anime decided to make up it's own story halfway.

No. The actual Visual Novel (Game): http://vndb.org/v11 . It's the original.
The manga is based on the Unlimited Blade Works route, but it's changing some stuff around as well I noticed.
Wonder when they're gonna do a Heaven's Feel adaption.

Don't watch the anime, play the Eroge. The anime, while having a particularly epic moment that wasn't in the game, was terrible. The movie is for the fans; there's very little explanation as to why the stuff is occuring, so only people who've playd the game's UBW route get it all.
I for one couldn't stop fist-pumping at every epic scene (all of it!).

The blu-ray is already out in Japan, hence the torrents. But rather than torrent I'm also thinking about buying the blu-ray.

I am thinking about buying the blu-ray for this.. Would anyone recommend it? The blu-ray is quite expensive, so I'm still unsure if I should order it. Is it worth it?

Finished watching it as well, the movie's story is pretty much the same with the VN route with minor differences. Though i still prefer the VN since the story are more detailed but the movie is good enough considering it is able to squeeze 10 hours worth of story in less than 2 hour movie.
