StormTrooper Armor

Hey Guys Godpir here, I am looking into getting some Stormtrooper Armor and wanting to join the 501st Division here in Missouri, but I am not sure as to what armor I should look into. My main one I am looking at is from Shepperton Design Studios who is the original mold maker for the Original Star Wars Movies. Also I have been reading up on AP Armor which is probably a little bit thicker and more resiliant to trooping. I first looked at FX Armor but have found that this is not very screen accurate and that the Helmet is way too big, via Danny's first instance with his armor. I'm really not sure as to what I should do, that is why I am asking for everyone's opinions. Any comments would be much appreciated.
The picture is of a stormtrooper that was at a comic con in Cape Girardeau, Missouri a few years back.
Thanks guys!

In the attempt to make my post more informative...
On the FISD site you'll get people talking about the different types of armor all day (FX helmets too large, TM kits vs. AP kits, etc.). There is a thread that gives more information on obtaining armor and such but its best to have those discussions on that site rather than figure.fm, it'll be more productive that way.
Thanks, I have checked out this site, it has lots of information on it, but I will go over it some more.
how about a battle-worn caped shadow trooper?
http://www.sandtroopers.com/sandwatch/shadow_trooper/utapautrooper2.jpg
But thats an Utapau Shadow Clone which isn't even a Stormtrooper, infact the armor is near COMPLETELY different...
oh! sorry i thought there was an imperial version of it. a nova trooper perhaps?
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Novatrooper
Novatroopers are just Blackhole troopers with gold painted stripes on their helmets and arms...
Also most (if not all to my knowledge) Black stormtroop kits are FX which leaves you with only the FX and the Master Replicas helmets as options...
but but but. the stripes are cool... oh well.
ok ok something that is imperial and off-variant.

EVO trooper

and a droid trooper glory class

If I'm not mistaken NONE of those 3 costumes are 501st accepted yet because no one has made them yet...
well with the eception of the EVO trooper
er... i'm pretty much clueless on 501 thing you were talking about. all i know about it is that it's the group that became vader's storm trooper?
the droid trooper looks cool. it has this ww1 feel into its design.
The 501st legion is the dark side star wars costuming group that George Lucas even approved and if you haven't noticed they're what the op is talking about getting armor to join
If you go to Star Wars events or cons and see troopers in vast numbers and screen accurate costumes they're the 501st http://www.501st.com/
they also do charity and visit hospitals and the such http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/501st_Legion_(fan_organization)
oh! i see^^ haven't been to any conventions... thanks for informing me.
First off I'd say join your local 501st garrison forums and as the other poster mentioned whitearmor and make some friends NEVER make "where do I get armor?" threads and NEVER trust Ebay
FX armor isn't that bad aside from the helmet it can be modified with glorious results but for the most accurate kits you'll need the ones casted off the originals and if you aren't a specific height/weight they might not fit you/
agreed, i am one of the proud members of the 501st Legion ^^
First you need to go to the 501st Legion official website. find out which garrison is the closest to your living area, then join their forums and get info from there. After that, make sure to have measurements for your height, etc etc etc. To see what armor fits u the best.
I am around 167CM in height, so the AP type fits me well.
Totally love the "dust" effect.
