Sorting Spare Parts

Posted by ClearTranquil [www]

Hey everyone! As I'm sure most of us are aware (being a community of collectors), a lot of our figure GETS are quite modular, coming with an assortment of interchangeable parts. Even some of the larger-scale purchases come with a couple of spare parts (such as 1/7 Saber Lily with multiple hands and sword combinations).

Until recently I had been keeping the spare parts either loose in a drawer, figma parts kept in those handy bags, or in their original boxes. Today I went down to a Canadian Tire and got some tackle boxes to start organizing things in. They were relatively inexpensive at $20 for the 3 of them (the small ones were about $5 each). The way I figured it, if the spare parts are tucked away in an ever-growing collection of boxes, I'm not going to ever have the chance (or motivation) to play with them and shuffle them around every so often. I don't like them sitting on the shelves collecting dust. :(

So, how do you all keep things organized?

(see my previous posts for more on my room)

My box for Nendoroid parts (and the Lucky Star heads which have huge masses of hair).

I've generally kept them apart but I didn't have enough dividers so I made sure if I combined two Nendo's their parts are vastly different so I won't get them mixed up (Miku and Kaito, Shana and Louise, Zetsubou and Yoko, Saber Lily and the Lucky Star Fate Stay Night). Rin and Len and the K-ON! Nendo's are so similar I had to make sure they were well split up.

I'm glad I bought 2 of these, I had room in the One Piece POP box for figma overflow.

My closet is currently housing all boxes (including the big ones) with exception to the One Piece POP boxes which I keep in the basement (those things are massive).

PS: Don't tell anyone, but that red folder under the Pokémon binder are my doujins.

I don't remember. I know there's a few Tora Dora and Evangelion in there, though.

Thats great, I need to do something like this. I just keep the stuff in the plastic boxes which are in a separate pile to the actual cardboard boxes.

Well, you don't exactly have a Canadian Tire. For you, I suggest going down to Fred Meyer or something and looking for tackle boxes in the fishing/camping section.
