Hatsune Miku Figma

As we all know, recently Good Smile Company made Nendoroid Miku restock, but what about all those who still looking to get their figma version?
Would be nice if the people of Good Smile Company consider the fans and to propose a new relaunch of this figure

Even if they were to re-release it it would be gone within a couple of hours after opening up pre-orders so chances'd low for me to get one.
Meh.
LOL so true... i got lucky when i preordered my Nendo Miku at AmiAmi, a friend told me and 5 minutes later got sold out
Sadly, my Miku Figma disappeared... I was taking it on a photo shoot in our garden, then the grass ate it. XD I'm missing it soooo much!
A Figma restock would be awesome, but frankly, I think it's impossible.
^^; lol so sorry about what happened to you figma...
Why do you think that its impossible? after all they would make moneys =P
I think it's impossible because... well, Figma Miku [despite being a normal release] already has value due to the minimal production count. I don't think GoodSmile Company has any plans to ruin that value it has. The only thing that would make a restock on Figma Miku more possible than 5% chance is if they do it as a scheme to lure in buyers for Figma Luka.
I had long been waiting for Figma Luka, but when I lost my Miku, I didn't want her anymore. So I'm willing to sell a limb and an organ to get Figma Miku and Luka together if ever they restock Miku alongside Luka's release.
I agree with you, but dreaming does not cost XD
Would be nice that combo, actually i preordered Luka, and will search forward to get a figma miku somehow and then maybe the next targets would be the kagamine twins ^^
Actually, a local seller here in our country has a Figma Miku up for sale... for 8,000 Yen. Yes, an unbelievably high overprice! I'd actually buy it if I wasn't planning to complete the K-On band.
By the way, I see it's your first post. Welcome to FigFM! ^___^
Thanks! and yes, its my first of many (i hope =P).
I have been active here for several years and today i wanted to start contributing to the community lol =)
Whatever value a product may gain by being rare, the manufacturer gets none of it. It's not in Good Smile's interest to maintain that "value" - they get nothing out of it - so why wouldn't they want to "ruin" it to get some more money for themselves? It's in their best interests - and, coincidentally, good for consumers - to re=release rare items and re-start the cycle of exorbitant resale value rather than let it continue.
it may not have a direct effect on them, however, constantly re-releasing everything, there will be more supplies then demand and the company loses its pristine image and thus less people will be interested in their products. It's also not good for all consumers that the "prized" nendoroid you bought off....say mandarake for 2-3x retail is now getting re-released. nendoroids are considered collectible,a good portion should only get a single/limited run, making them rarer, as collectibles should be. If they are wantting to do re-releases, fine, but I think they should at least put "1st edition" on the first batch they sold.
Not joking here, but the demand for Figmas far outweighs the need to ever think about the devaluation of a company. If people believe that Figmas are the best Japanese action toy then they'll keep buying them until the day they die.
With the current prices of some Figmas, like $100-150 that people are STILL WILLING TO PAY, you really have to think about the cause and effect of saying that re-releasing a batch will devalue the original.
Figma Aegis is getting a re-release. That's not stopping her from being $60 at major resellers currently and will probably not affect her price once she sells out AGAIN.
Face it: The growth of the Figma brand in consumer base outweighs the devaluation of re-releases. If anything, Figmas are only going to increase in price because of how many people are realizing that their favorite series have fantastic action figures from 3-4 years back.
w/e happens to figmas dosen't apply to me, since I have 3 figmas and will ever only have 3 figmas. If you've taken college intro/intermediate microeconomics, you'll know that by increasing the quantity supply (equilibrium price will drop. even if she sells out again her value will not be near what is was original. good example is wave akiyama figure 1/10 figure, it sold out quickly causing the price to double from retail of 4000yen to 9000yen. so wave corp re-release it, and it again sold out quickly, however, it's normal price is now 5000yen. if there are twice as many of the same product release, then price will drop. and may not even sell out this time. like figma yui, first release is very popular and sold out and people started paying 5-6000yens on mandarake, but second shipment, she is still avilable to buy, same with most k-on nendoroid. people who is willing to pay the $100-150 for the miku figma now would already have one. therefore there will be no demand at that price again (unless somehow miku fan goes up even higher unexpectedly)
Nendoroid Miku has been re-stocked at major retailers at least 6 times since she came out to the same degree that she will be in a month or so's time when she comes out again.
She still constantly and consistently rises in price after each time. Her pre-order went out of stock in 10 minutes. Obviously, nobody wants her any more, right?
Mandarake is an unrealistic look at the price of many items: case in point, Koizumi's Figma being only ¥2000 despite being at LEAST ¥5000 elsewhere and some items being tens, if not hundreds, of dollars more than their estimation.
Mandarake isn't 'Joe Public' territory.
Figmas have always retained value because it's only been a few years since they were even created. 10-20 years down the line, you're not looking at $50 for a borderline 'rare' any more. You're looking at $200 if a product is finally called to a stop. Probably even more if it was in low supply when originally created.
Because it's a japanese import, because of the insatiable consumer demand and because of the growing user base, the whole devaluation of a Figma based on how many are in circulation is a joke.
The only Figma that this can even remotely not apply to is Black Rock Shooter.
And do you know why?
Because even at a pre-order stage, she was selling 300,000 strong.
Yeah, you don't have to go to college to understand that Figma has a license to print money that they're not even bothering to use. Hell, they sold the second shipment of the K-On Figmas for ¥500 less than their original value. The popularity of K-On wears thinly over the course of even a month. THAT'S the devaluation.
Either you don't understand the ratio of new customers to the supply of Figmas that are currently in circulation, or you just can't see that toys like this never decrease in value no matter how many times you push it back out.
Here's a little phrase to memorize while you contemplate the 'microeconomics' of thousands of new customers every year wanting exactly the same toy that sold out 3 years ago:
Transformers G1.
Hmmm, no offense, but not quite agree with Figma miku's (I mean the original version) "minimal production" thing. That's what I get through my experience.
My point is she has been re-released twice, I don't know how many was re-released each time, but during April to August 2009 when I started to collect figures, Figma Miku(the original version) is both easy to be found and at low price in my local market.
I get my Figma Miku (which is my first figma) for a little less than 20 USD (Compare to about 30 USD I spent on Figma Saber and Aegis, it's quite cheap). Back then everyone told me there was no need to worry about bootleg Figma Miku, because the true thing is good and cheap and has a large quantity in the market, it's simply not that profitable for the bootleg makers!
But as time went by, several months later, she eventually became rare, and the price rockets into sky. Stunning!
So in conclusion, back then they made a LOT of Figma Miku, She was once at low price and easy to get. But she is SO popular that the stock eventually runs out in a not very long time, then became rare, that's all.
Isn't that what "minimal production" is all about? Miku had only been rereleased twice, meaning she only had 3 releases so far - twice in 2008, and once in 2009. Well, it's pointless arguing now. But I do hope to see Miku in our shops soon...
Well, re-released twice is a lot more than those many Figmas which never have a re-release. But she is so popular that even the manufacturer give her 3 releases and buyers still not satisfied!
Nevertheless both of us agree buyers are outnumbered Figma Miku in stock(Whatever the price is), don't we? :) If the manufacturer do give her a re-release, I'll get her. The only thing I regret about Figma Miku is I didn't buy a dozen of her back then. XD
On the other hand, after re-released this Figma twice and the price of it was sinked into bottom once by the re-release(s), Will Max factory do this again is still highly doubtable. Another re-release may be too risky. Customers' impression of the company will also be changed if they keep re-releasing their old products.
So whether we want a re-release or not, our fate is not in our hands. It's in the COMPANY's. (Sounds like a evil organization LOL)
I want this for a normal price :p
not the market price x3 :)
She's a nice Figma, but very limited possibility/accessories compared to the recent releases. However if Nanoha got re-released, Miku may not be out of the question.
Well, accessories are quite enough for me.
My disappointment about accessories always go with SABER ALTER. XD
I have both versions of miku. I was contemplating on selling the first version but after reading this post, I am thinking twice about it. 8000 yen, hmmm.....
Which one would you think is better? I'm looking into a Miku figma, but I would only get one of them if I did get one.
I made sure I bought a spare way back at first release so I have one for play and one mint in box (Konata rule). I hate to be the one to say this because it seems selfish, but I've had a few things go down in value due to re-releases. In fact, I'm quite upset that Fate Testarossa got a re-release as well as the VOCALOID Nendoroids - especially the petits. I bought 2 boxes which cost me a fortune with the exchange rate and shipping being what it was at the time - and then over the following 4 months there were 2 more shipments of them! I can't sell the 2nd box I bought for even what I paid for it!
Good Smile / Max used to be known for not having re-releases...now that they do it more frequently I watch the value of my stuff plummet.
Simple solution to not missing out on stuff is to be willing to buy online when pre-orders open!
UGH, the more I read this, the more I see the PVC collection community becoming just like the vinyl community.
Have to to pay $$$ just to get the figure you like because of some feigned 'collector's value'. >_<
I'd only get the re-release for the faces. I've already got the Wonfes ver. , so meh.
By the time I found out Nendo Miku Hatsune was re-released it was too late for me to pre-order.
Ah, my absolute favorite figma - I have three! XD I would totally buy a re-release, hopefully with some new faces and accessories. They already re-released all 3 Strikers girls, so why not? Also they are re-releasing Aegis to go along with Metis, so re-releasing Miku to go along with Luka makes perfect sense.
If there is enough demand that Good Smile Company would sell out of their reprinted stock and make a profit, they'll re-release it.
I'd rather have a Yoko figma, man... :(
i agree im lucky enough to have a the miku figma and nedo but the figma as nice as she is kinda plane compared the the newer releases.
I want GSC to release a Kaito figma
i want it relaunch! it would mean the value would go down and be cheaper.
