McWedding @ MickyD's in HK. You lovin' it?

Posted by FatBastard [www]

Did you know that for a measly $400 you can have your own McWedding at McDonalds?
Well apparently in Hong Kong it's right on the menu next to the Big Mac supersize combo.
Supposedly, there is a demand for weddings at the golden arches, so not passing on a business opp they decided to make it official.
However, aside from your reserved section, the rest of the restaurant remains open to the public.
No word if they'll let you and your bride close off the playground to dip your McNuggets and sample hot apple pie. *rubble-rubble*

So would you have a McWedding at a Hong Kong McDonalds?

    My history teacher said that when she went to China, she saw a McDonald's that hosted candlelight dinners; they put out white tablecloths, and got a string quartet, but still had the same grease-tastic menu as usual. Her guide said that at least that particular branch did this about once a week! So given that, I guess a wedding isn't a huge stretch, even if it's still something I would never ever choose to do myself.

    Mickey D's has been openly campaigning for the repeal of the modest health insurance reform going on in the US, because it would mean they could no longer offer their "mini-med" junk health insurance as a perquisite for employees. Because of this, I don't darken their doorstep anymore. I'm not a big fan of their food-like products, although I do like their grilled chicken Chipotle barbecue Snack Wraps. They are dead easy to replicate: flour tortillas, a single chicken breast strip, vaguely spicy barbecue sauce, shredded lettuce and shredded cheddar cheese. If I want 'em I'll make 'em at home.

    And if a fiance suggested marrying at a Mickey D's...that would be the end of it. Engagement OFF. So long...

    I just can't see why anyone would want to get married at McDonoald's. Granted, I wouldn't want an overly extravagant ordeal with tons of people, but I sure as hell wouldn't want it to be held at McDonald's either.

    I would rather get married at an In-N-Out just for the novelty in California.

      Think...carefully...about the implications of a wedding at In-N-Out. Think about it. Carefully.

      However, back when I was still eating red meat, In-N-Out was THE place for burger awesomeness.

        I wont do that, but the coma from eating the animal fries and a 4x4 will make a great wedding.

    That is not my cup of tea. ^^;

    I guess, if they fancy fast food for their guests and they're happy with it, it would be fine.
    Why not choose a lovely restaurant ? :O
