Hi guys ^^
One of my relative is going to the UK for a week and so I need you help locating some anime shops in the UK. By anime I mean anime DVDs and of course figures.
I appreciate your help ^^

Where abouts in the UK are they heading?
This link should be a uesful guide

=)
thank you, I still don't know where but I believe somewhere in london
Tokyo Toys isnt on that list for some reason- Its probably considered the biggest anime shop in England, ( even though it is a very small shop).
Its on London- heres the link

However the website does not include all the items in the shop by a long way- as I discovered when i went there- which is annoying.
thanks, really appreciate your help ^^
Tokyo Toys is really the only place in retail you can get figures, but they are expensive due to the import fees. For anime DVD's try Forbidden Planet. There's a mega store not too far from Tokyo Toys in London.
Thank you
is the dvds imported or the US version?
They are region 2 English. Not imports.
Personally, I would say to stay away from Tokyo Toys unless you're fully prepared to pay way-over-the-top prices or don't mind bootlegs ^^;
thanks for the advice, I will keep that in mind
To be honest the UK isn't a particularly good place to buy figures. There are a few decent domestic online stores, but as far as physical ones go they're either overpriced or don't carry much in the way of interesting stock. Anime DVDs can be found in regular stores like HMV, as well as some of the better comic book stores (like Space Centre in Sheffield, and Forbidden Planet). Some comic book stores may also carry imported art books, magazines and manga in Japanese. Manga can be found in comic book stores and chain book stores.
If they're going to be in reach of central London, the Japan Centre near Regent Street has a good (if expensive) range of merchandise, manga and magazines like Shounen Jump, all in Japanese.
I'd say that most of us in the UK buy primarily online.
Aha, thanks
BTW, don't they have a Kinokuniya branch in the UK?
Unfortunately there isn't one.
The only Japanese bookstore I know of is the Japan Centre one I mentioned. You can see the address and pictures of it here: http://blog.japancentre.com/2010/04/22/new-japan-centre-bookshop-now-open/
