Alter Valkyria Chronicles Selvaria Bles Figure
Following up my post from yesterday of ebCraft's 1/6 Selvaria Bles from Valkyria Chronicles, today we have Alter's 1/7 scale version! This one just arrived in the mail yesterday, and was released last week.
Alter has chosen to portray Selvaria in her iconic pose - threatening Welkin's troops with her lance at the ready. Isn't it amazing? You can also display her with her cape and no lance or shield. Let's take a look at the box first.
I'm scared already.
The front of the box has a goregeous closeup shot and a nice window showing off the figure inside.
The right side of the box lets you see what she looks like without her lance and the cape on.

Who you lookin' at?
While she's perfectly capable of balancing without the support stand for the lance, mine has already started to drop after just 24 hours. Even with a metal rod reinforcing the arm internally, it doesn't look like this anymore without the support of the stand. It's angled downward a few degrees. A disappointing turn.
The detail on her leggings is incredible.

Here are both figures side by side. You can see that even though ebCraft's figure is 1/6 scale and Alter's is 1/7 scale, the Alter figure is actually slightly larger. While the ebCraft figure might slightly edge it out on height if it were standing straight up, it's all a lot thinner all around.
ebCraft's base wins hands down though.
A closeup of both figures. Notice the blue highlights on her hair on the ebCraft version. Look at how much more detailed Alter's version's lips are.
ebCraft's version has a more accurately sculpted face. Alter's is too round and her eyes are a different shape.
The ebCraft lance (on the top) is much more accurately crafted, including a sliding rear section and increased detail to the rear of the handle.
However, Alter's lance has a blue-glow gradient to it that makes it look like it's powering up.
Nice review! I can't to get mines. Do you suggest that its best to add an extra support stand holding up the Valkyrian spear from underneath?...I think I might do that if I decide to add the spear.
She comes with a stand for the spear, and I do recommend using it because mine started to droop after being unsupported for only 24 hours. :(
Got mine today, but I could not pull out her arm to put the spear and shield. How did you do it? Is it difficult to remove her arms?
Grab either hand around the wrist and give a firm pull parallel to the arm. They fit snugly, but should come out without too much difficulty. When placing the other hands back in, be sure to note the irregular shaped cut-out of the hole and insert the arm peg in the proper orientation.
Ah, finally got her arms out. Thank you for your guidance.

The only thing I dislike about the base for ebCraft because I find it too small.
I can't wait for my Selvaria to arrive ;)
Thanks alot for the comparison, this migth help some people to find the right figure for them.
I'd still choose Alter's Selvaria though, because - as accurate as it may be - I don't like her face in the ebCraft version. Although the Base is much prettier :)
Thx for sharing. Waiting for my Selvaria. the ebCraft one was way too expensive for me. I bet she is double her value now.
One of my friend want to sell the ebCraft version to me but his price is ridiculously expensive even after discount! It's like 4 times more than Alter version! I brought Alter version for US$97.40 and he is selling his ebCraft version for US$400! I say I simply cannot afford her and ebCraft version wasn't worth the price.

I had to pass on the ebCraft ver due to its price, but I don't regret it. Though I wish the Alter Ver was more angry, it still seems the better of the two. I personally think ebCraft's value should drop now that that Alter's is out and will probably become the one to own due to the price difference, but I could be wrong. Those wanting a Selvaria will be drawn to Alters since its cheaper, so demand on ebCraft should drop. Though the supply of ebCraft may keep the price high.
Looking at the close ups of the face I'm surprised she doesn't have more of an angry look. But I guess she does have a look that looks as if she's saying she's a human weapon that doesn't value her life.
I'm surprised the other one is more expensive than Alter's. When I think of Alter I think of quality, and that comes with a hefty price. I don't think the other one looks as good as Alter's which is why I'm surprised it's more expensive.
