I have a question...are Dollfie oppai hard? or are they made of silicone to be realistic?
I know there was someone on figure.fm that spent like $8000 getting their dollfie into a silicon skin for a realistic feel

The chest on most DD's or DDdy's is not really hard, it gives a little since it's vinyl. But it's not "skin" soft by any means. The chest in the pics above is an aftermarket one that *is* very soft and squishy, it's made to be close to human skin and softness but its also very expensive.
And you dont have to get *near* 4 figures to own a fully setup Dollfie. I have proved that 3 times now. ^_^ I got all my daughters for less than $600 each and one of those is Yoko who normally goes for $1000 or more. Granted, she had some stains on her but if you know how to treat them, they disappear after a few weeks! All you have to do is take your time, look around and have patience. Keep checking the classifieds here too, thats where I got my first girl, Manami from and she only ran $500 fully setup with clothes and all! So its VERY possible to get a full DD or DDdy for less than $1000, you just need to take your time and look around. Heck, someone else here just got a DD off Amazon for $220 and all it needed was clothes and eyes and to have a faceup! That's a great price for a Dollfie!

Well, if you set your sights on DD's that are extremely hard to find and super popular then expect to be paying big money for them. Since you didn't mention that before, I thought the plans I laid out were easily obtainable for most people. $500 or less sure doesn't sound like "a ton" when you are considering $3000 limited Dollfies.... But you could always "make" your own Rin or Saber custom. They wouldn't be *exactly* the same as the official ones but they would be close and you wouldn't be spending so much for them. It all depends on what you want and what you are willing to pay for it.

My most expensive DD is my MDD Namiko Yamamoto. She cost less than $300, including head, body, and eyes. Found a wig for $20 that cost $44 new at Volks -- Den of Angels Marketplace is your friend. It is also helpful that Best Friends Club 18" clothes fit an MDD perfectly.
Least expensive: my newest, Rachael Swanigan, aka Sarge. Her body cost $115 shipped. Her head cost $42 new at Volks. Eyes were $11. The success of my first faceup: priceless.
Yumiko Natsume was a gift, so I can't really say anything about her other than I bonded with her, my boyfriend didn't, so I adopted her from him.
My two Obitsus cost me about the same as Sarge each. They were both previously loved dolls. So all you need is a little smart shopping, and a Den of Angels account with full marketplace access (two months of active use plus 50 posts equals full access) to get in on this.
Yes, DoA is also a great way to get good prices for DD's and their clothing. Dunno why I forgot that bit.

i heard DoA registration is closed now; it's not too new-user-friendly; a friend of mine wanted to get into dollfies and approached DoA but she couldn't get further than the index page

I gave up too. There is a page that says something like 'If you do not know any DoA users who could send you an invitation please email us'.I emailed the DoA staff about 1 month ago to ask them if they could invite me to join. I expressed my interest in Dollfie to them but I have not received a reply yet. Does anybody know if this closed registration is just temporary and if they just open it up for a few days during the year? Or have they closed it for good? :(
