Tsuzuri 1/8 - りこりす -lycoris radiata-

  • Sculptor - Hiroman
  • Scale - 1/8

Was pleasantly surprised to see that I've acquired the pink version of this figure. I was expecting the original version. Lovely figure, clean sculpt. Though didn't like that there was some paint removal upon cast-off, a paint chip-sized, small. -_-

I think I'm doing alright with my photography skills regarding figures. Trying to recreate the clean and soft look of official figure photos from Good Smile Company, Max Factory, Alter, etc. is my current goal. I got the sharpness, depth-of-field, and low noise correct. I can work on composition and lighting ratios at a future time. So, sorry about the bland angles. >_> Softbox with flash, and 2 white reflectors were used.

I have the blue version. It's nice, but the leg pegs are kinda loose.

Due to the posture and the rather loose pegs, Tsuzuri is already tilting forward the moment I stick her onto the base. How do you deal with this?

Oh wow. My Tsuzuri isn't tilting forward when I place her onto the base. But I do find that the pegs don't seem snug enough to secure Tsuzuri. Way too easy to accidentally dislodge the figure out of its base. Doesn't help that the most of the figure's weight is to the front and right of the center of gravity.

Going to try applying a tiny piece of tape over pegs to increase the friction area. It might work. :/

That sounds like a good suggestion.

I'm getting leery of Alter lately with the following figures that are leaning on me: Sion Jujo (http://www.alter-web.jp/figure/06/11_3/index.html ) & Saika S. Farnese (http://www.alter-web.jp/figure/07/03_2/index.html ). What's up with that? Both of them don't even look like they would lean.

Hence, I'm keeping Tsuzuri in the box until I can figure something out.

A lean problem with Alter...? Oh wow. So far all I've ever heard are praises for Alter's quality. Those two seem to be older releases, so maybe they've improved?

Then again, lean problems don't tend to show up until much later. I hope that's not the case since some of the newer stuff sport some pretty crazy poses.

Best part of this figure for me is the hair. The detailing on her cuffs is good too.
