Displaying BRS stuffs (Edit: more pics)

Posted by monev

BRS (and friends) are absolutely going to be the center of my growing figure collection. As more and more BRS items come in if been trying to think how i can display them in a coherent way. Here are some pictures of what I have going so far. While it will certainly have to change to make room for things like the original and anime vers of both BRS and DM (all of which are on order) I think I've got a couple of ideas I'm going to stick with.

Ultimately I'm pretty sure Detlofs are in my future tho.

The BB BRS that is still in the box is one that is signed by huke.

Edit: I went back and retook the picture of DM holding the charms so you can see them all more clearly. as well as adding some high detail shots of the charms and nendo.

This is the section as it is now, except for the Rock Cannon metal charm which is just off to the right.

With all that much alternating black and Flesh tone it kinda has a whole zebra optical illusion thing going on making it hard to see the details of each item.

Once the DM Nendo arrives I'll have it sitting right next to BRS in the same pose, so the figma's will be fighting over there own nendos, who have finished fighting.

I seriously can't think of a better way to display the Hobby Japan charm and the PICSIX charm. These are going to stay like this for the long haul.

While I like the idea of dual welding two cannons, this pose takes up a TON of space, especially considering it needs 3(!) stands.

After I made the post i decided to go back and re-take this picture as well as get a few more with a different lens/ settings for a more inclusive depth of field. This is much better.

Macro shot of the PICSIX charm's face. whats not to love

The problem with taking all these macro shots of my stuff is I always find flaws I'd not noticed before.... there's some scratches in her eye, and i think they happened before the eye was painted on.

yeah, you don't want to know what I had to pay to get that. After searching all of the Internets and auction sites US and Japanese, i can say at the time i went to acquire this there were only 2 for sale on the entire planet. Both of them at the same place for the same price.

I am afraid to ask how much it was. But in all certainty, I will surely visit and pay tribute at your BRS shrine when I happen to chance by your place. XD

if i had more cannons i would have her standing with her arms crossed, with the cannons all floating around her.

Also if I may ask, why two black blades figures and not one black blade and one cannon

I didn't get into BRS till after the cannon was already sold out, but I have one ordered for the December re-release.

the Second BB ( black blade) BRS in the box is one of the few that was signed by huke for the pre-orders taken by Giant Robot magazine (mag is behind the unboxed BB). the one out of the box is a normal unsigned one.

I think the way that you put them us great :) the blackness of brs is nicely complemented by the black wall :D I'm just waiting for my dead master figma and nendo to arrive ^^

actually the wall is chocolate brown. ^_^ The room is also my home theater room, and for that dark walls are important. In that setting i felt black would be to harsh, so i went with a nice warm dark brown.

i'll inevitable do a "my room" post, but i still have a number of updates to do.

thank you. part of whats great about having a collection of pose-able figures is posing them together.

the equation for BRS figma epicness is Epicness = 2*(# of figmas)^(# of rock cannons)

eBay. It originally came with huke's dojin "PICSIX" which was only sold at comike last summer. so there's not many of them and never sold in any store. there might be one more on eBay, but you aren't going to like the price, and before you look, there are none on yahoo japan.

scrap that. i checked again, there are 2 on yahoo auctions japan. but you;ll need to find a proxy bidding service. which is not the same as a proxy buying service.

I totally need to rip this Diorama idea off you to make my collection look a bit more presentable :P

Just managed to snatch myself Visual Works 1 today and a little something rarer which i'll post photos of when it arrives.

Has your BRS Anime Ver. arrived yet btw?

Yearp, it did. I was shocked.to see how large the box is. Its mostly empty space. They juest really wanted her face to be visable. I actually don't plan on opening it. Im going to keep it boxed and wait for the re release to display.

Im glad you like the display idea. (you should see my post about displaying the Luckt Star figmas.) As my collection has ourgrown the shelves on the room, Doltufs (however its spelled) are going to be the their new home. But ill make use to do something interesting.

Congrats on the visual works 1. Id like to pick it up but its not the highest priority for me now. Getting my hands on the limited version of the RPG will be big for me. And the blue star phone straps are now looking better to me then before. I just might have to track some down.

Yeah those phone straps are of a higher quality than i expected! Love the way the Yomi one is made of metal chain. Reckon i'm gonna get my anime ver out of her box, but shes held up in british customs atm awaiting charges. Sucks...

I think its spelt Detolf btw :)
