it just broke without no one toutching her, i think the reason is that GSC didn´t make the leg one solid piece like Saber Excalibur, the foot and the leg are just connected by a small peg

i´ve been complaining about this matter for quite some time now and i think that the great figure companies SERIOUSLY have to think about their work as it currently is.
Some of the paintjobs i´ve seen are worse than bootlegs, figures break because they´re not using a metal support in a one leg rested figure.
I start to wonder when people are going to pick up on that...
this magic dream era of selling 2$ worth of plastic,(3d-)PRINTED for 2$ and painted in China for 2$. for over 100$ and more, is going to end.
I dont want to whine about it and i like figures too BUT almost literally printing money with this seems a little wrong.

If you go check simular "american" toy pvc products sold in wal-mart and toys stores, you'd know that the actual value of the item is just about nothing and most goes toward development. Like selling anime Blu-Rays for $80-90~ that costs like $3 to put together one..... or Dakimakura covers for as much as 8000-12000yen....

hm yeah, i know where you are trying to go with this. but isnt a bluray at the top of its buisiness right now? you cant do much wrong by making a bluray and nice wrapped up it is the best you can get at the moment, but is the a figure and figure itself at the top of its game right now? I dont think so, a simple piece of metal could prevent something like this (dont how he broke it tho).
I mean when a company gets roughly 1600% out of a product you might excpect it to be at the top of its game.

Dont think the profit is that large. Because costs of the sculpter goes in, time and most important thing in my eyes is the copyrights that the company has to give for each sold item etc.

Because those statements are quite bold without facts to support it.

there sure are costs to be covered, but, you can check that GSC has roughly 40 employees and all the printing, painting, packaging, shipping and so on are outsourced (mostly) to china. The copyrights are tough but wont be such a problem.
But dont you think that a simple piece of metal in a figure could sometimes enhance its quality drasticly?
really dont get me wrong here, i luv figures (why else would i be here?) but i think that critisism is important. Without complaints we would be going no where there would be no improovment at all.

I totally dont disagree about that a piece a metal could fix this kind of problem. Always wondered how big companies are checking this out, same goes to Alter with Vita, Signum, Shamal, Vivio standing on one leg. Are there research of weight/pressure those pegs can handle etc.

Just commented about profit part of your reply :)

Compare figures 5 years ago to the figures now. Your complaints, while true, don't need to be voiced. This isn't politics -.-" it's business. They need to constantly improve their own products to maintain adequate competition in their market.

Unless they made some secret trade agreement with other companies to NOT do that which would be annoying beyond all belief but unstoppable!

"maintain adequate competition" and thats the point - adequate, right now they reached a point where they can produce cheap as hell in china, the copyrights are not that much and the designers are paid good money but not that good, if a designer wants a bunch of money, good chance they fill the spot wirt one of many designers looking for a prestige position like that.
The companies know that theyre making good money right now when it comes to production costs and profit. So the companies dont go into better material or higher quality production since the little extra quality wouldnt justify the costs increase and minimize the profit.
it is buisiness as usual - but once in a while i simply have to complain about it :P

No, you're thinking like a "外国人." They're thinking like "Japanese."
You forget that Japan's environment is the epitome of everything that will destroy a figure. It's hot and humid in the Summer; so hot that elderly people often die. It's pretty damn cold in the Winter. The Springs are refreshing but pollinated and Fall is elegance incarnate.
But even otaku are human, they won't keep throwing money at something just to bring it home and have it start leaning or depreciate greatly in quality during a specific season.
So Alter/GSC/etc. have to keep improving the presentation/longevity of their figures. Their profit margin is currently so great (I mean look at dollfies...) that increasing production costs by 500 yen, per figure, would be minuscule. But increasing the production cost by 500 yen would have far more benefits, sales would probably increase 25% or more thus generating more revenue overall.

This has happened to me before too on a few figures that are supported only by one leg. Depending on the climate of where you live, plastics can get brittle and breat off. Just reinforce it with a steel pin or something.

I suppose this is another reason not to be a big fan of figures in a one leg balancing pose. Possible leaning being the other. Though, as mentioned, a metal rod support would probably take care of both potential problems. I can only think of 3 figures I own(Nadie from El Cazador de la Bruja by Alter and Menace and Annelotte from Queen's Blade by MegaHouse) off the top of my head that I own that are supported by one leg and have yet to open them, so I don't know if they have metal rods supporting their support leg.

how to fix(I hope it helps)

drill a 1.5mm hole in both the figure and the shoe, the use a paperclip(cover with glue) to conect those 2

Wow, personally I'm not too happy with GSC right now; shoddy QC in less popular figures, price tampering and now this ?! I have Yui Inaba out right now and now contemplating on putting her back. :( I have another one leg/peg figure (Unity May) but barely displayed her.

I also have Alter's Haruka displayed at my parents, which is doing fine last time I checked.

Yeah, I am not pleased with GSC's QC since last year: I got a nendo Saber lily which has an arm can't fit, I got a World is mine 1/8 scale figure which have roughly made hand and poorly painted bracelet.

But I still buy things from them, just because nendos are so cute...

WIM Miku has "faraway girl" syndrome sadly. The figure isn't absolutely terrible; but compared with prior releases and the near flawless original 1/8th scale Miku, it's pretty disappointing.

I haven't opened my authentic Saber Lily yet (I got the bootleg also, shame lol) but now I'm worried.

I think you could relax about your Saber lily nendo: I don't think your luck will be worse than me; ^^
But on the other hand, the problem I face with Saber lily nendo does not so easy to be noticed unless you unbox and play with her. By the way, Saber lily nendo and WIM miku is the reason why I named my ID "Worstluck". ^^

And for WIM miku, this product is HORRIBLE IMO. After I noticed how many flaws (Some are obvious and some are not) my WIM Miku has, I went to internet to complain about that, but what I found is a lot of buyer had greater problem than me: headphone broken or missing, bracelet shape and paintjob problem, and the worst is the phrase "World is mine" on the base is missing or even half done!
Actually after that I have not buy any scale figure from GSC.LOL

            Bummer on the luck.

My copy of WIM Miku is okay, the paint job is sloppy and the back of the hair has paint scratches. I saw a few photos of the bad prints of the figure last year, pretty heartbreaking.
