Latest Episode Catches Haruhi Off Guard...And Me Too!
If you’ve been watching the new episodes of “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya,” you’re well aware of the Endless Eight arc that wrapped up a couple of weeks ago. For those unfamiliar with it, it’s an episode of the same episode with some slightly different animation and dialog each week.
I wasn’t that enthused as much as the old series when the new series started in late May, but the Endless Eight arc was just killing my devotion to watching Suzumiya and the gangs hijinks until I watched the episode “The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya Part 4,” the latest episode.
Something happens in the episode which I, Haruhi, and I'm assuming a good bit of the audience didn't expect. It was more than enough to get me interested again.

Otaku Surf, this version of the anime was made for the more hardcore Haruhi fans. Namely those who have read the light novel series and/or know that KyoAni took the risk just to keep it true to the light novel series. (That is why I stuck with it and plan to re-download the episodes when I have the time. :P)
But yeah... "Sigh" was a pretty amazing story and is more for the light-core Haruhi fans. Plus, I have one more week until all the new episodes are complete. X3
Have to disagree with you a bit about the endless 8 arc. In the manga it worked but was about 1/3 of the length that the anime was. It just didn't make the translation to television I also think it hurt the series with overall viewers. I love Haruhi and this episode really brought that feeling back of being impressed, something that was missing for about two months.
I agree with you completely! This episode completely caught me off guard. I really cannot wait for the next installment (which is a refreshing change from my previous sentiments about the E-8 arc).

Kyon should of been slapping Haruhi all through the first series.

reading the manga, not really... But the last comment of Haruhi in that episode sorta makes me pissed off... Since I have a feeling they are detouring from the manga (or iono how it goes with the novel...)
Haruhi only did what she did because she was jealous that Kyon showed too much interest for Mikuru. Evidenced by her ponytail practicing at the end.
Yeah, I could kind of tell she was getting jealous as well. I didn't notice her wearing her ponytail at the end. I think I missed that:P It was terrible when they got Mikuru drunk without her knowing about it. I don't like her that much but that is just a really mean thing to do to your friends. I like how this series is explaining what happened in the first movie(why Nagato pounced on Mikuru after the Mikuru beam). I think Kyon owes Nagato quite a bit after she saved his life, again :P
It was right after Kyon entered the Brigade room. She was so cute for a split second before switching seamlessly to her I AM CRAZY mode.
Some times this show really pisses me off. But I love it ^_^
I wish Kyon went through with it and didnt pussy out... ofc I'd think less of Kyon for doing it, but I dont like Haruhi much already... she much too....much.... if you get my drift... too much to handle... highly strung etc.... bugs the crap outta me... prefer Mikuru. Poor Mikuru....
Really, I think Haruhi just needs to get some. (Yes, a somewhat stereotypical answer, but for some reason, I think it would actually work this time.)
OMG! That's it!!! I was thinking about what would make her calm the frick down, and then I saw your comment and it was like *ping* She needs to have some major lovings that will tears the room down in order for her to be somewhat ~average~
