Sydney Animania 09

Last weekend, Animania was held for the 2nd time running at Australian Technology Park. As the last convention in Sydney for the year, it was to be expected of a huge attendance and no doubt I was right.
While I find the event was above average, the quality level of cosplayers was impressive. I do say, theses were some of the best cosplayers Sydney had to offer throughout the whole year.

went to the very first 3 years of animania, but got lost interest in it because the cost for the attendees just keep on going up every year, and the profit margin charged on the merchandises are just huge comparing to sourcing from HK or Japan, not to mention it lack varieties... The only way they would draw me back is to have either famous Japanese idol, signer, pop group or actress to show up, or/and have gunpla, garage kit competitions and of course selling quality garage kit that's just slightly cheaper than e2046 or hobbyfan...
We have the same problem here in the states for our cons being like that.. Only a few of the cons even have a modeling panel anymore.. I haven't seen a Garage kit competition.. outside of a Wonderfest in louisville (Where Anime Figure kits aren't really expressly welcomed anyways..) in.. Ooh.. about.. ten years.
