Touhou Thursday 2

So, did anyone enjoy playing touhou 6 last week? Anyone get to the extra stage yet? :DD

Since, last week's post was about Touhou 6: Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil. Guess what's the next game~? Touhou 7!

Anywhoo, Touhou 7's storyline is about the stolen Spring. It is already May in Gensokyo and yet there it is still cold and snow is still falling~
There is 3 playable characters now in TH7, of course there is still Reimu and Marisa,with an added character Sakuya Izayoi (TH6: Stage 5 boss and Stage 6 Midboss) haha Sakuya fans rejoice ^_^.
One thing that makes this game a bit different from the other touhou games is that there is an added collection item during gameplay. These pink boxes resemble cherry petals. Collect enough of these and you can get a special shield that if you get hit, you'll instantly clear the screen of bullets~ quite convenient eh? Example of of it in the pic below ^_^

Also, not only do you have to collect the special cherry blossom point boxes, you can also just keep shooting to gain points. ^_^ Also, if you haven't noticed, during the midboss and the main boss fights, you can see at the bottom of the screen an enemy indicator :P This is really helpful, when you're trying to dodge bullets and trying to keep in line to hit the boss :3 really convenient eh Zun? :D
Also in this game is 2 extra stages, the only touhou game so far that has two XD the first one: Extra Stage: features Chen the shikigami of Ran Yakumo as the midboss (she is also the stage 2 boss, but now shes much, much stronger, as shes near her master now ^_^. Ran Yakumo is the shikigami of ???, she is the main boss of the extra stage. Then, 2: The Phantasm stage, which Ran is the midboss and ??? as the main boss (FRIGGIN HARD AS HELL X3 & i'll reveal her name later :P)

Enough TALK, Now let's introduce some characters and goodies! :D

Characters

This is Alice Margatroid~ formerly a human, but now turned full fledged magician due to her extreme training in magic and her high dexterity. She first appeared in Touhou 5, where she was extremely young, but still attained great magical power :P and she comes back as a boss in touhou 7 ^_^. Alice is also known to have a romantic relationship with her neighbour, Marisa. Doujins, 4komas, and such depict her having a deep relationship with Marisa :P I APPROVE :D hehe :3

This is Yukari Yakumo. The Touhou 7 Phantasm stage boss XD Yukari is one of the strongest youkais known all throughout Gensokyo. She is also around 1,200 years old, much older than Gensokyo's history itself~ She's a trueee youkai, she basically sleeps all year long and rarely leaves her house. Her power is the manipulation of boundaries. Which in other words, HAAAXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XD She can teleport anywhere, in between dimensions, and has enormous power~ most of the time she seems unreliable, but when it comes to the safety of Gensokyo, she'll fully use her powers to stop the danger, along with Reimu. Yukari also possesses vast knowledge of..basically everything XD and she loves toying around with every opponent she meets~ fun fact: she has never went fully out on someone (in recorded history) yet....<_< that I would like to see X3

This is Suika Ibuki. First appeared in Touhou 7.5, Immaterial and Missing Power. She is an Oni, and arguably one of the strongest youkais in Gensokyo also, and funny thing is, shes friends with Yukari XD Since Suika is an Oni, she loves to drink and be drunk all the time, sometimes she may look fine but shes not XD hhaha. Suika's power is to freely manipulate density, and she possesses enough physical strength to throw tank sized boulders with just one hand >_< haha. As scary as this sounds, Suika's personality is jolly and acts childish most of the time :3 fun fact: the magical gourd shes carrying, produces an infinite amount of sake, and that she has been SOBER in CENTURIES ;D

This song is just soo calming, with it's casual, yet eccentric beats, and the vocals just fits with everything! Everythings soo great YOU FORGET THAT YOU'RE ABOUT TO FIGHT REMILIA IN TH6 XD

The build up in the beginning is just amazingggg. All in all, this an awesome orchestral piece. Enjoy~

Enough with the calming orchestral music, let's crank up the music and the beat shall we? This is Sakuya's more harder themes to arrange. But this one's a doozy! Awesomness in one song :P Also I've actually never heard of the circle: Malkruth. Can anyone shed light into this? Google didn't work much for me~ :/

Last but not least, Yukari's theme :3 This is one of the most recognized doujin music of touhou songs in the internet. Demetori's remix of that propelled this song from MADE OF WIN TO EPIC PROPORTIONS. Just thank God you're not listening to this WHILE facing her XD
