22nd of November 2010: The Story So Far

Completely unrelated, but me wants to share. Taken by my brother at the UP AME event last November 6, 2010 at the SMX Convention Center Hall 2, SM Mall of Asia, Manila, Philippines. Lancer-kun is a fellow member at Cosplay.ph... Much honored to do battle with him. :)

Due to a lot of things brought about by work, I wasn't able to write regularly, thank God I was vacant for this period of time (6:56 PM)...
Currently, life so far is being kind to me, as it brought me a new opportunity to hasten my pilgrimage to the land of everything 2D - Akihabara. Well, this opportunity came in the form of a computer shop, which was situated near our first family business (a private clinic). This one gave me a lot of room to learn on one of my favorite gadgets - computers.
As with other businesses, mine started with a LOT of rough sailing. The old adage is true: "The first is the hardest." Being a n00b (computer lingo for 'newbie') in the computer business, I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of information I had to imbibe in a short span of time; 'tis would not be possible without the help of my parents (who were in full support of me during my 'learning curve' in the business), as well as my technicians, who gave me ideas on how to run the shop smoothly.
During all this time of trying to balance things in order (personal stuff, work, family, hobbies), I noticed several things:
1. It seems that weekends and/or weekdays are non-existent in my calendar. Just days...
2. Irregular sleeping patterns are common;
3. Stress, when coupled with 'high-and-mighty' people (who can't even pay up for 1 hour) can make your good day go bye-bye;
4. After experiencing No. 3, the only thing you wanted to do is to play Left 4 Dead 2. Shoot 'em up.
But amidst all this hulabaloo of work-related stress, there are also good experiences/realizations from them:
1. Family is there when you needed them the most.
2. Sometimes, there are things you can't control.
3. All those jazz 'bout making money isn't really going to be nice. You have to work to get 'em.
4. Make everyday a learning experience.
5. Good character doesn't come from GOOD GRADES/ EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT... Its from one's dedication to his/her chosen profession.
I'm not trying to be the Dalai Lama of the 21st century, but here are some practical tips for those who read this note: This came from my current experiences:
1. Learn as much as you can, for the knowledge will help you, somewhere, somehow.
2. Never stop asking questions. It will help you in your daily activities. Saves time too.
3. Be humble, but do not allow anyone to step on your dignity.
4. If you have the opportunity to teach someone what you know, teach everything. He/She will thank you for that.
5. Do not share what you don't have. - Quoted from St. Thomas Aquinas
Wow, talk about a note. Its more of a novel, methinks. ^^; Will write again sometime.:)
