Dollfie vs. Dragons
November's always a busy month for me. Not only are there holidays and school to worry about, but I've also been participating in the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), trying to write 50,000 words worth of novel in 30 days.
However, this is Agatha's first November with me. I don't think she really knew what to expect, and she's clearly been a little miffed at me lately. So. . .I decided to try to make it up to her, at least a little bit.
Hey, Agatha! C'm'ere a second.
Agatha: "Huh? What's going on?"
Look, I'm sorry we haven't hung out much this month. November's probably the busiest month of the year for me. I know you feel I've been putting my novel before you, but I do still love you, and I'd like to make it up to you.
Agatha: "Does this apology also cover you annoying me by playing the theme song from Robot Unicorn Attack over and over all day yesterday?
. . . ^^; Erm, yeah, sorry about that too.
Hold out your hands! I've got something for you.
Agatha: "Oh, really? I hope it's a left-leaning occipital heterodyne wrench. I've been wondering why you don't have one."
Well, not quite.
Agatha, meet Toothless!
Toothless: *Purrrrr*
Agatha: ". . . . o.o;; WHAT."
Agatha: "Wha-- What is this!?"
Well, it's a dragon, obviously. A cute, friendly dragon!
Agatha: "Have you lost your mind!? I mean, look at this thing!"
I know, isn't he adorable? <3
Agatha: *sigh* "And I thought I was supposed to be the mad one around here."
Agatha: "Holy--He breathed fire on me!"
Wha--Bad Toothless! I think he's miffed that you won't cuddle him. Really, he's quite sweet.
Agatha: "Well, I suppose it would be rude to put a gift to waste. Watch the fire-breather for a moment; I'll be right back."
Agatha: "Ta-DAAAAH!"
. . . Where'd you get those?
Agatha: "Pft, please. No self-respecting Spark goes without basic eye safety gear. What do you think?"
Well, they certainly look effective, and are sure a lot more attractive than the ones we had to wear in my bio and chemistry classes eons ago.
Agatha: "Alright, little pyro, let's try this again."
Toothless: *Prrr?*
Toothles: *Pew!*
Agatha: "Hah! See? No problems here anymore!"
Agatha: ". . . huh. I guess I do have to admit, once he can't breathe fire on me, he is kind of cute."
Toothless: *Purrrr <3*
Glad you like him! Oh, and there's one other thing.
Agatha: "Oh. Really?"

Sven: *HIII!*
Agatha: "Oh. Um. . . Yay. You shouldn't have."
The glasses were made by our resident handyman, Battrastard.
He says they're prototypes, but as Agatha just proved, even prototypes can be useful!

Heh, thanks! I've been wanting to take pictures of her with the dragons since I got them in mid-October, but didn't get around to it until the glasses inspired me. ^_^ And I can't help but think, if these turned out good, the next set is going to be awesome.
Awesome! Now Agatha has some cryptozoological creatures to study! One thing though: they'd better sleep with one eye open to avoid being experimented on...^^;;;

Well played! I'm glad Agatha found a use for them. *next one's will be a bit more "proportional" to fit her face* (I wonder what Agatha's response will be when Toothless wants to share "lunch"?)
I'm glad she did too, though now I'm wishing that *I* had a pair of glasses dedicated to hazardous and/or messy work. ^^; Heh, you mean shares like he does with Hiccup? Hm, I'm not sure, though I'm inclined to find out. . .

Toothless is too cute!!!! and it's size perfectly fits with figma, I wish I have one of that. Very touc story btw. ^^
I love Toothless so much; one of the cutest characters I've ever seen, bar none. He's actually a tad too small for Figmas technically--if you look at his neck, you can see the saddle molded on, and Mikuru just couldn't sit there--but he's close enough. Still would love to see what an actual Figma Toothless would be like though.
If Max factory really decided to come up with Toothless figma, I won't miss that for sure. But I think he's gonna be quite small, a lot smaller than yours. Looking for word to see more pics of Agatha btw, just love glasses girl ^^

Heh, Agatha's attitude has kind of spoiled me a little; there were a few dolls on my "when I'm out of college" wishlist that I ended up booting because their personalities weren't nearly as strong. XD Just as well; if I had adopted them they'd either have been completely run over by Agatha or may have ended up rehomed. Now I know to look for a more competitive sass. =P And thanks! There are definitely some flaws (namely the misaligned snap), but I learned a ton on it which I hope to put to future use.
If you want sass, find yourself a Rei Ayanami and watch the wars escalate! ^_^
So when is the next outfit due? Any hints as to what it will look like?
Hah! I've been dreaming of Marisa, actually, even though I'll probably have to resort to buying just her head. Her head mold has this mischeivous little kid quality that's both adorable and dangerous, at least to my eyes. If I can get my hands on her, she'll drive Agatha nuts. It'll be fabulous!
I think I linked you to the sketch of it a while back--the candy-cane themed Christmas dress. I have the mock-up of the shirt almost done, and that's probably the hardest part. I hope to at least get the final shirt done over Thanksgiving, then start work on the overskirt.
Ah, Marisa.... a very nice choice! I can so see her running amok with Agatha chasing after her... too funny!

Heh, thanks! I hope I can make it happen, even though it won't even be feasible to go "minion shopping" until Jan 2012 at the absolute earliest. -_-; Still, that's exactly the mental image I have: Mad science vs. Mad magic!
I just hope I can get the thing done before Christmas; there's a lot of pieces to the thing and I'm sewing by hand. ^^; I hope it lives up to expectations!
Agatha is just as spicy as the dragon. I think she will use her mesmerizing blue eyes to make him her slave.
I dunno, Toothless did manage to win over an entire village of vikings that had previously killed dragons for seven generations. . . Hard to say who's going to enslave who!

They did a second wave of plushies, too!? I've only ever seen photos of the first wave Toothless, which. . .well, frankly, I didn't think it looked much like Toothless. ^^; I know the regular toys at least were supposed to be Wal-Mart exclusives. Not sure about the plush though.
Thanks! I made those eyes custom using the Pupapa Paradise D.eye.Y blanks. I made several pairs in case some didn't turn out. (Out of six, only one turned out badly though.)
I got Agatha second-hand off of the Den of Angels marketplace. DDs don't necessarily come up often there as it's primarily a resin community, but after lurking for a while the chance came and I snatched her up right away. :) I did have to redo her faceup though; her original one, which I do have in a couple of my older posts, was a little too melancholy for me.
OMG, they made plushies?!? As soon as I saw HTTYD, I said I wanted a Toothless plush, but I never dreamed they'd actually make them! I haz a mission naow. :3

Yup, the second wave are based on the original promo plushes, only smaller. I've been hitting up the local Wal-Marts every other day for the past week and a half, since I plan to get a toothless plush for a friend of mine and keep a Nadder in my car lol. They're available in the East/West Coasts so far from what I've seen on eBay, nothing in Texas yet. :( (and I'm not going to pay the prices they want..hell no)
I do have the original pillow pal and promo plush of Toothless; the promo is amazing, hence why I'm so willing to find the new wave version.
As for the dollfie, I'm just going to build my own after comparing costs. Already got the outfit for her. If it wasn't for my part of the rent and Dead Master's release, I'd order all the parts this week. Been racking up hours at the workplace as much as I could.
You say the first wave plushes were good? Hm, maybe the photos I found online were just unflattering. Got pictures?

The holiday shopping season is only going to make finding them worse.
I'm getting the HDD-04 Head with green animetic Eyes (not sure which). I'm doing the face-up myself, I put together resin kits (finishing them is another story), so shading/coloring is not a problem. Nothing too fancy, just enough to make her look cute and approachable. If everything goes smooth financially, I should have her by January.
The promo plush is definitely cuter, but I always wanted a close-mouthed Toothless. ^^; I'm very picky with my plushies, I know.
Ah, cute! I suggest with the 04 head that you focus on eyes with the square-ish irises, like the H type, rather than the completely round irises I have in Agatha. The 04's eyeholes are just too massive to accommodate anything else. Glad to hear that you're taking the plunge and doing it yourself, I really think it helps with "bonding" as they say in this hobby. Just remember, seal before, during and after, and be sure to only use either the Volks Zokeimura or Mister Super Clear sealants; Testors will make her permanently sticky!
Plan to do just that; I'll be adding the sealant to my cart along with my first robust order to Volks. Can't wait.
I have only three PVC pre-orders left, so thought it was a good time to start with the Dollfie thing. Curiosity and the wonderful photos people have been posting finally got to me.

Actually, I *do* hope to get Agatha a horse of some sort in the (probably distant) future, though that may hinge a little on whether or not Domuya gets their stuff together on releasing the standard version of their ball-jointed horse. (They say they intend to make the standard available in white, with removable mane and tail. I can't get this image out of my head of making rainbow hair, a magnetic horn, and giving him a sparkly blush job to make him into the famous robot unicorn. . . )
