Creators Labo #026 Soryu Asuka Langley

Posted by dreaming Artemis [www]

Finally got another one of my figure reviews up and going. Man the internet can be slow and what makes it worse is that it can take me repeated tries just to fully upload anything T_T the problems with internet here.....T_T;;;;

Heh, this figure came on the same weekend I was at AFA X so technically we can say that I bought 2 Asuka figures on the same weekend. Though something just occurred to me, both figures have more or less the same pose when you think about it @_@ I'm wondering if I have some sort of leg fetish.

More photos for this figure can be found here

The other Asuka figure I'm referring can be found here

Overall, I think this is a fantastic figure, it has a nice glossy finish to it. Sadly this will be my last Asuka purchase, I had to cancel another one because I realized I just had too many Asuka figures.

Do you find yourselves having too many figures of the same characters sometimes?

This one is still a possible purchase for me as she looks fantastic, but I worry about the pose. Does she seem like a "leaner" being on one leg?

No, its not a leaner, she standing up straight on one leg and the frame doesn't seem to be heavy at all. I don't foresee any problems unless you exposed the figure to high heat.

At least your posts are showing up! Mine stopped showing up two or three days ago, and no one has explained why!

Not really a fan of the ultra-realistic face, but then I'm not an Eva/Asuka fan to begin with...

I had no trouble for several posts, but now they've dropped off. I'm thinking they need to recruit more moderators. Perhaps those in different timezones, so that posts can be faster approved.

For some of us, yes. From what I understand from Danny and Chris, either you're an approved PERSON, or you are approved for EACH post. If you are the former, you can post without going through a moderation queue. This usually the case with people who post regularly. For those of us who do not post regularly (like me, KOR stuff can only be found in spurts, every few months, so I don't post when I can't find anything), each of our posts has to be manually approved. Very annoying.

Well the things is I don't post often myself. Though I have been posting even before figure.fm at Dannychoo.com but moved here after it was set up.

I think my posting rate is about once a month on average.

That's part of the problem. The moderating policies are not even remotely transparent. If there is a clear standard, it isn't one that's published anywhere on the site, and neither Danny nor Chris have been very clear about how it occurs, beyond the fact it exists to prevent a swarm of spam.

That's fine and all, but some of legitimate posters are getting caught in the crossfire. From what I can tell, most of my stuff is so old, no one else has it, so I'm pretty sure my posts are relevant and desired.

                As I say. Frustrating.

I plan on picking up this Auska figure, too. I think she'll look really nice displayed to the rest of my Shunya Yamashita figures, particularly Rei. Though, I wish she wasn't so expensive. I paid almost half the price for my Rei figure.

Nice photos of a great figure! My friend just got his and after seeing it in person I even want it a bit (even though I'm not into the character.) Such a good face sculpt on her. If this is your last Asuka, at least it's a really good one.

btw, I've thinking of ordering some figures from Amiami as well as hobby search since they have some pretty good deals. How are those places in terms of customer service?

pretty good, i order most of the time from Amiami, best prices. and they combine shipping for figures released on the same month. if sold-out from Amiami, i get them from hobbysearch. no problems so far on both, i get my EMS shippings 3-5 days, SAL, 7-14 days. should be cheaper shipping to Malaysia. just check if your country's custom charge some custom tax. here in US, we don't pay custom taxes for figures XD

my asuka shipped already together with 14 other figures: so all in all: 4 nendo, 4 figma, 1 play arts kai odin, and 6 scale figures, 15 total. shipping cost is 19260 yen, EMS. they won't ship it with SAL due to total size of all.

Nice. Reminds me of the Adult Rei fig. (Same artist? Data file not found.) I would add it to my collection, if I had money. :(
