Great, I open the page and no replies. Once I replied a whole lot of people replied... darn that tab browsing and the lags it causes :/

Turned out that I read it correctly though. Wouldn't it have been lovely to misread it in this case and make a complete fool out myself.

Didn't notice that door until you mentioned it. Looks really much like it's custom made to fit the free space under the roof. I would really recommend against that kind of doors because they are near impossible to replace. You will have to get it custom made because the way doors today are made you can't just cut away the part, which is too much. Imagine it's like each side of the door contains a spring. If you remove the end, the spring will jump out. The wood will do something like that. A custom made door costs an arm and a leg :(

        Hint:
Rectangular: 4 sides and 90° corners
Square: a rectangle where all sides are the same length

2 original commercial posters. usually not for sale
Then how did you manage to get them? When people have stuff that usually aren't for sale (like streetsigns), then they are stolen :/

I took a closer look at the KNJ bath towel. Well actually more like the window next to it. First of all it looks like it have been taped together. It also looks like there is a lamp taped to the window for lighting up the towel. And last, but not least I can't see a curtain of any kind. This made me wonder:
1: does it mean that during the evening there is always light in the window and no curtain, meaning everybody passing on the street can see your loot and what you are doing?
2: if tape is used to get windows tight, then it looks like it's a room, which is 40°C in the summer and -15°C in the winter. Please tell me that it's not that bad. If it is, then I say you got messed up priorities regarding what to spend money on (figures vs insulation)

As for the room in general.... well sure you are a dedicated otaku, but... where is the rest of your life? Or is it that you actually have the whole house and this is more like a hobby room?

How long did it take to gather this much and how much did it cost you?

If it's not a light, then what is the round thing in the left of the window?

So if you live with your parents then I assume you have this room and only this room for yourself. This goes back to my question "where is the rest of your life?". Looks to me like your room is a computer, a bed and the rest is a museum. I hope you can figure out how to do other stuff than to stare at posters and computer when you are in your room.

wow, you must really be a hardcore knj fan, just look at all that character merchandise. I still can't make up my mind about kodomo no jikan. On the whole, I think it's very good and its not just pointlessly flaunting underage girls in a sexual way, it actually seems to have good character development and I'ts really going into why the characters act the way they do which is great. However the suggestive and sexual scenes still make me feel uncomfortable, since they are such young girls.

Still, I suppose in modern life, it's not so far fetched is it. I mean all over the world, there are underage girls exploring their bodies and sexuality in ways the older generations never really thought to. A sign of the times perhaps. Either way, I love your collection, its fantastic, dedicated and very well presented (especially for such a small space).

Still, I suppose in modern life, it's not so far fetched is it. I mean all over the world, there are underage girls exploring their bodies and sexuality in ways the older generations never really thought to. A sign of the times perhaps.

This is a severe issue because while a number of girls (and boys for that matter) do stuff today, which wouldn't have happened earlier then it's my impression that the media and peer pressure makes them believe it's expected of them. They will then do stuff they actually don't want to do because they assume they have to. There are also the girls exposed to this pressure, who resist it and they are put through a horrible time of peer pressure to make them give in.

It doesn't help that "experts" advices girls of age 12 to get the pill because they should do it. Because of that advice doctors gives them the pill if they ask for it (even encourages in some cases). What happened to the age of consent? Legally giving the pill to an underage girl is assisting rape but AFAIK so far the entire legal system has ignored this issue.

The whole issue (underage and adult) is that we have the freedom they wanted to give us in the 1970'ties. Freedom to do stuff but is it really freedom? We don't have the freedom to say no. Say for instance can you buy a newspaper without being exposed to bare eyes in the shop? We have a serious issue regarding what we expose modern kids to and how they experiment is a sign of this disturbing fact. They aren't happy about this, they just do it because that's how you interact with other people. Meimi posted a question the other day "can guys and girls be just friends?". Kids today learns that the answer is no. You have to do it if you want to talk to each other. This isn't even limited to mixed genders anymore. In a classroom with 12 year old kids they were told about splitting kids based on gender. One boy asked why and then the teacher told him "you can always be gay and then your problem will be gone".

Sorry if this ranting got a bit long, but it's a really serious issue and I read the line I quoted as being unaware of what actually goes on. It's far worse than most people imagine because adults today have no idea of what goes on in schools today unless they talk with relatives in the school age.

"Ignorance is bliss". Well that's what I have been told and I guess many people believe that because so many people decided on sticking to ignorance :P

I do wonder about one thing though. What kind of girl are ok with a guy who is 22, lives in his parents attic and have posters like that everywhere? I'm not saying that you did anything wrong (I can certainly relate to living at home until you have a job), but somehow you fit a stereotype who has "Message to girls: stay away!" written all over him.

So was any of those girls your girlfriend and did she stay as your girlfriend? Or were you just friends? ^^

Nobody here claimed you to be a child molester. However the stereotype is, which I assume could cause problems. How reality is isn't always important. Sometimes it's way more important what people think reality is.

there are many girls who also enjoy, cute little animated character

So far I have only seen those on DC. I have yet to meet such a girl. This have made me think that I assume people aren't into anime unless I find them in places like here. I hope I'm wrong, but you can't love something you don't know and... well anime is a fairly new thing around here, which I think most people have missed. Getting the TV to declare it as children TV doesn't help either ^^

err.... it's not like I'm really interested in it. I just wondered if it really isn't any. I mean it's not healthy to be so "single minded" that you only deal with only one interest. Usually a room is full of items of mixed origin telling what kind of person lives there. Here it's more like "insert generic otaku here". When I look around I see lots of electronics, some old irons, a clay thing I made at school, a model airplane, a clock from my great grandmother, Dungeons & Dragon figures (a few), model railroad, boardgames, a zillion books and a lot of other stuff. In other words this is a mix of stuff, which only I would collect meaning it would be wrong for anybody else to live here.

This otaku room is well... sure it tells something about who lives there, but at the same time it wouldn't be wrong to place a different otaku in there. There is nothing wrong in having an otaku room (it's actually quite nice), but I find it a bit odd if it's the only thing you have.

I hope I didn't offend anybody but I asked about this because I started to wonder. Somehow this reminds me of the Star Trek apartment in England (looks completely like the inside of a spaceship) and the guy lacks a bed and sleeps on the floor in the transporter. Looks really cool when you first see it but I wonder how cool it is in the long run ^^

Amazing room JmWell. =] I can only imagine how long & how much money it took you to amass your collection. I've never watched Kodomo no Jikan, always heard the ecchi is over the top, have I been misinformed?

I like the series from the manga's view
there is the perverse moments, not so weird but more cute.
and the story is better. more deeply and feelings.
