Kureha (from Shining Wind) by Max Factory 1/7 scale

Posted by Jul [www]

This just arrived today and is my first 1/7 scale figure. She is, of course, Kureha from Shining Wind, by Max Factory. I believe the original character design was by Tony Taka and the box features some of his illustrations. As I said before, this is my first 1/7 scale figure and I was really surprised by the size of the box. The bow alone measures 30mm (12") in length! A nendoroid doesn't even come up to her waist! You can also remove the bow and also remove the skirt if you are feeling cheeky - I will display her with both intact. She is such a fantastic and colourful figure and now stands tall above all my other figures.

Hope you enjoy the pics :)

As mentioned above, you can remove the skirt for obligatory pantsu shot...

Doesn't look as good without the skirt (or bow) though.

Bonus shot just for size comparison with an 1/8 scale Momohime by Alter and a Shana Nendoroid.

Another bonus shot with Shana Nendo. I love this combination.

Thanks. I'm not a fan of the castoff feature (although seeing how this one worked I finally managed to cast-off my Shana figure, I was always too afraid of breaking it).

Er, yes, you are correct. I always get 1/8 and 1/6 mixed up in my head.

Yeah, you are correct. She came out a long time before I started collecting figures. Recently saw the bikini version up for sale then looked into the different versions of her, and this one was the best, so couldn't resist and had to go to the secondary market. Still in a sealed box, so cost a lot more then when first released.

Yup she's a cutie. Just dusted mine off today. She must be pretty rare these days though; where did you find her?

As said above, resorted to ebay. A lot cheaper than some sellers on ebay though.

I like her face, and expression.
Just watched the first episode of the anime to see what she looks like there, and I can see where you are coming from, she seems to have a much rounder face there. I prefer this one :)

I think that is just because of the angle from some pictures
On my shelf her face looks very good :)

Congrats for adding her to your collection!
Been stalking her since I saw the actual figure a few years ago, but can't afford her price now. Second hand price is usually above 10k Yen, I think?

Yeah, she's pretty expensive now. I justified it because of the size. She is awesome. Though when I put her next to any Nendoroids she looks like some giant robot statue.

Must be her giant legs right? She is also so symmetric with those giant wing-like sleeves.
