Made this Helmet a Long time ago... it was supposed to look like Gundam Exia, but it's seems hard and i could'nt get how to do it so i just continued it... Worked on it for about 4 days... This helmet Fits my head perfectly, though it's really hot when you wear it

Thanks! How Encouraging!
Looks decent ^_^
He I think you did an awesome job ...... no one starts out perfect I'm an artist also and it took along time to master my level of skill and I still can always excel further...so keep it up at least it looks like a Gundam helmet
Thanks! So, practice makes perfect!
Heh, so far so good. You may want to put masking tape over each of the seams to make it look more uniform though. Also, I recommend spray-painting rather than hand-painting, and try shaving off some of the excess hot glue. ^^ Good job though, looks interesting. (I'm no good at arts and crafts, all I do is draw. =_=)
Thnaks for the suggestion! truthfully speaking im bad at measurements, and did'nt measure any part of the helmet
As someone who's attempted to make mecha stuff with cardboard. i suggest not using common corrugated cardboard. i know it's a free material (if you speak to shops nicely) but it's a horribly weak material.
spend some cash and get some mounting card. use a craft knife and a steel ruler. make templates from paper, mark the design out on the mount card and then flip them over, making a mirrored image that, more importantly, is the same size as the other piece. this ensures things are nice and square. hot glue it together, and if possible, reinforce joints with tape on the inside.
Thanks! I'll try this if my budget allows me...
Cardboard, wonderful material ain't it? X3 Great Job Dude:D
Good creativity! I like it!
Just a tip in creating your helmet. Use wood putty on the helmet before painting next time. That would allow you to close the seams and provide a flattened finish.
- Wood putty
- a little sanding
- paint
you can even add gloss to it later on.
Thank you, I'll try using wood putty sometime
By the way, how do you gloss things like these?
