Saber retailed for around $1000 USD. Aftermarket prices are certainly higher than that, and even higher for Saber Alter. If you want a Saber your best deal is Saber Lily, who is coming out soon from Dollpa.

Many DD owners will tell you they're worth it (which they are), but it all boils down to personal choice.

If you have to ask yourself, then no.
Dollfies are one of those "Either you got to have it or you don't" things.

All the questions are answered for you so I'll just add a comment.

DD are well worth it. They're essentially the highest end of quality for figure collecting. They're classified as Dolls but ultimately its a figure nonetheless. With Saber, all I can say is good luck. You're not going to find a Saber that's under 1000. I unfortunately did see one for 700 but I didn't have the money at the time and that cost isn't including deputy services. That was just Saber from Fate/Stay Night. Saber Alter goes for a stupidly high price. Expect to pay at least 1500 to 2000 for it. Don't expect any cheaper. Lily is your best bet but even that is slim.

All I can say is "GO TO DOLPA." There is a better chance for you to get dolls there. Recent ones that is. For any old ones. You can forget about getting it for cheap.

As a Saber fan also but advice save up for 1 if you can, although I not into DD myself (tempted though)
Reasons,
1) New ver or better Saber PVC will keep releasing although at much slower rate. (fate/extra red saber potential?)
2) DD quality is gd, with 1 Saber DD, you can change ard the clothes for pose as different ver. of Saber.
3) Save space (SG is small too much PVC u going to get problem in displaying all)

All the original Saber and Saber Alter DDs are sold out so the only ones available are on the after (ie second hand) market. Some of these have been opened and may be in various conditions others are unopened an been held by others for resale.
All the dollfies were originally for sale at the Volks USA or Japan sites or at the Volks store

Depends on the condition. If for instance the Saber has been opened or used or has some staining probably a lot less than an unopened mint box. Remember none of them are "new".
A mint unopened Saber will probably set you back between JPY 180,000 to JPY 230,000
an Alter might set you back between JPY 130,000-200,000.

Hell yes. Value is in the eye of the beholder. Others will think I am nuts.
The aftermarket prices on Sabers in particular are insane. (and yes I do own one)

If you are thinking of them as an investment thats a poor idea. You buy them because you want them. DDs are a pure indulgence - money down the black hole kind of expenditure. If you have to mortgage a kidney to get one - simple advice - DONT. They are the current-all-rage-fad but that WILL pass.

You had to ask about the money and are worried so the answer is "no". The correct answer is "take a deep breadth and suck it up and pay". They are only pricey because you want a SOLD OUT Limited Edition. If you understand what that means then the price is entirely dictated by the demand for Saber in a limited production run which I am betting is smaller than any of the current DD production runs.

I got a Saber DD a few months ago, so expect to pay around $2500 USD. If you want the save some money I have seen YJA sell just the Saber DD Body without the clothing, armor and sword and you can buy custom clothes for her instead. Another reason why her price is so high. I seen the body go for around $1100-1200 USD. Good luck on your hunt! =D

Bit confused as to why you're saying you might want to get a DD and ask if you should get Dollfie Dream Saber. Is it because Danny has one or because she is a popular Dollfie?
You're not obliged or need to feel forced to get into Dollfies because it's currently popular and lots of DD fans are vocal on figure.fm these days. definitely not if you consider it's a hefty investment.

Just trying to say you should only get into something because you're really interested and/or committed. Personally I lurked DD stuff and held off the DD boat for quite some time before caving in and so far it's a natural expansion on my figure and photography interest. I checked out Figma and nendoroid too when everyone was raving it but found out they aren't for me. But a Figma or nendoroid isn't as expensive as a DD so be sure of what you want as splurging on a DD and having to sell it afterwards because it's not your thing will be a shame.

Also, DD's are like PS3 or XBox 360, while the doll/console itself costs a lot it's the accessories/games you need to buy afterwards that end up costing more.

It really varies! I got my Louise mini dollfie for about $800 including shipping. x_x You gotta be prepared to shell out at hundred to thousands of dollars. Thousands if you're going for Saber.

I consider my Louise to be pretty big (she stands taller than my laptop) so regular dollfie dreams seem to be HUGE! People have already given the specific sizes but I warn you, make sure to clear up plenty of space if you get a regular dollfie.
