November Loot

Posted by Barsona

Wonder how many people are actually affected by this stupid USA banning incoming package from Japan, out of all countries to set a ban on... Guess American government is scared of the otaku culture, or terrorists using the culture to promote the destruction of America... Then again, in Code Geass, America = Britannia.

regardless
This month's loot courtesy of mother going to Japan. Unfortunately:
a.) I can't ask for big things
b.) I can't be their in person
c.) I can't ask for much

But meh, otherwise you get it your usual ways...

Mouseover = load notes.
November Loot

This was a first... It's supposedly some oil that dripped from another package. I would have been pissed if this affected stuff inside, but....

Mouseover = load notes.
November Loot

As you can see, they are all fine...
-T_T -2x Astraea and Avalanche Exia = Avalance Astraea and modded Astraea... Or so I have planned
-Base stands, since I am rapidly loosing those
-Figma movie Nanoha... Surprised they still had them in stock at HLJ... But yea, god damn it.... I sorta fell for it... Wanted something of Nanoha that wasn't too over priced.... Seriously, I blame my friends who showed me Nanoha... I am hoping it won't become a money sink... along with Ranka figures...

Mouseover = load notes.
November Loot

BOOKS! MANGA! My forte! Four of those I got from a local Kinokuniya (I have two locations I can get it from, just that they are equally distanced at 1 hr). One of them, my mom gave to me (so it counts). And the rest I got from Japan via mother's trip.

-Lucky Star vol 8: Kinokuniya> Didn't think they had it, but I scored one before I left.
-AmanChu! vol. 1-3: Kinokuniya> Seriously, I felt like Aria all over again (which is a good thing). After reading several chapters into the book, and after my commute back home, I REALLY did feel good inside. This author is amazing and I would seriously like to meet her in person.
-Sketch Book vol 7: Japan> I didn't realize this was on sale. I was like GETTO FOR ME! Another manga I recommend people reading. It's really funny
-Conan vol 69-70: Japan> WHEN WILL THIS END! Although, I do like it. Seriously, I've been reading this since it started... You would think that reading this many ways to kill someone, I would become a killer too, according to those people who believe in Video Game Violence = Violent people.
-Bamboo Blade B vol 3: Kunokuniya> B stood for boys... Wow, so we get some Boys in Bamboo Blade finally?
-K-On vol 4: Japan> You know... I still have not finished K-On!!...
-Full Metal Alchemist Vol 26-27: Japan> FINALLY, my quest is complete! First ever completed manga in my collection (since I need one more volume of Shaman King to be complete, although really, the tanko version is not complete...)
- DRRR!! vol 6-7: Japan> Seriously, along with Bacanno, I would be willing to translate this if I had the time. This light novel is WAY too awesome to pass up, imo (also the title that got me into reading light novels)
- To Aru Majutsu no Index vol 4-5: Japan> Hmmm, so I am catching up... NOT. Wonder how far the anime will go...
- Summer Wars: Mother> My mom had this in her book case, and she gave it to me when I got back, after I discovered it. She said the lingo in the book was hard to understand, and I would too... Thankfully, I seen the movie... Those of you who have not seen the movie, WATCH IT! Although, those who seen Digimon the movie might be like -what a rip off.

===

On a completely random discussion, I finally found out why I don't read Jump or Shonen Sunday, or even Gangan stuff anymore... I feel that I just gotten bored of the stereotypical shonen style of story telling... Like I am watching bakuman, and it made me realize why I hate Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece now a days.

      yes, I can read Japanese and qite well understand it -as long as the Kanji has some hiragana with it. For light novels, such as DRRR!! and To Aru, it's roughly 60-80% comprehension, most of it due to not knowing the kanji. For stuff like Gundam UC, it drops dramatically to 30-60% due to scientific lingos (especially since my science background in English, not Japanese).

      Stuff like Sketchbook is not hard to understand, in fact, I seriously recommend it...

          =P -I cheated
          Unlike most people, I actually was born into a Japanese family with parents who were motivated enough to send me back to Japan every so often to polish my Japanese in a non-traditional way (just be there and learn it). Otherwise, I did have a bit of school, which I did not like. Overall, it's mostly just the otaku culture that has kept me in the loop.

    Omg, you like Sketchbook too?
    Love this series, I need to get the volume 7. >w< If my aunt was still in Japan, I could get it like I got all the other volumes. I love its routine moments, the joy of the simple things. =w=
    Amanchu and Bamboo Blade series are really great too. Too bad that the main Bamboo Blade has already finished.
