Yumi gets a new Wig!

Yumi: Hey, again with the pictures? I'm having my snuggle time here.

Me: Just a quick one to show off your new wig.

Yumi: About that...

Me: Yes, I know, I know, I'll learn how to make it look more stylish.

Yumi: You better if you want to take more photos.

Just a quick iPhone photo today. Been way too busy to really set up a shoot.

My package arrived from Leeke World and maybe you can guess how I came to name her Yumi. :)

I'm trying to style her hair but I dont know much about that X3 I saw that I should use a toothbrush to style the wig but are there any tricks? I'd like to get the hair to have a bit more flair. The wig looks sooo fluffy and alive on their site. I saw that I shouldn't use human hair styling products. Is there anything that would be good to use? Also are there any particular brushes, tools that would be good to use?

I like that wig on her even if you don't have it styled like you want just yet. The color is nice too.

Rei is the only short haired girl I have right now but I do have a short Monique Wig on Yoko for the time being. I use soft grade toothbrushes for most of my brushing needs. I also read that if you quickly dip a toothbrush into veggie oil and then flick it back out by running your fingers across it, it helps keep down stray hairs and flyaways. I used this on Manami's long wig and it seems to work well. I have not needed it for the other short haired wigs yet tho, regular toothbrushing seems to keep those in check. Make sure you don't leave much oil on the brush tho, just barely any so the hair stays down after you brush it a few times. So far it's done no damage to her wig. Hope that helps you a bit!

Thanks! Yea I like it but if you'll take a look at the link I posted above you'll see what I mean. They had it styled up really nice and it looks like there's a lot of movement and life to it. I'm wondering if they may have used hair products that shouldn't be left on for long term use just for the sake of the photo. I'll brush it and it'll cling back to its original shape in a few seconds haha.

Hmm I havent heard of using veggie oil. I'll def look into that. Thanks!

Ah, I didn't see that link last time! It's very possible they used osmethign to hold it like that for the photos. I know I got a wig off ebay once that looked awesome in their pics but what arrived was not even close. No matter WHAT I tried, it just wasn't the same. At least I got refunded on that one...

I don't know what to tell you on that bit. Maybe ask someone at a hair salon what you could use on it that won't cause damage? They may know especially if they do weaves or extentions for hair.
