December Loot (Sort of)
The first of, hopefully, more things to come in this month called December. Only two things came in so far: My Softbank 740SC Keitai and two decks of Hanafuda cards. Full unboxings can be found on my blog. Excuse the crappy pictures.

It's a very sleek phone.

Love the feel of this phone.

The phone has been Software Unlocked and does work here in America.

The list of languages you can have the Keitai in.

The phone is quite large.

On to the Hanafuda Cards.

The set comes with two decks: One red and one black.

The cards are beautifully detailed.

Traditionally, they are also quite small.

From Right to Left: The columns (going up and down) each represent one of the twelve months, starting with January and ending with December.

Getting ready to play a game. The hands are shown for example purposes.

large phone is large O_O
It is quite big xD Though it doesn't feel so large that it's unwieldy, if that makes sense.
japanese phone xD
anyways its cool. how much was it?
It was 150 USD, Not including shipping.
Any tips on how to unlock the phone?
I have the exact same phone that I got from Softbank in Tokyo while I was there.
Even though I wouldn't use it as my main phone, it'd be nice to have around ^__^
Unfortunately, I do not know of a way to unlock the phone personally, It actually came unlocked.. though I have heard there are people who offer those services. Sorry I can't be of more help ^^;
Ah, thanks anyways.
I was just wondering; Would much rather use my own phone locally with 3G.
That phone is reserved for usage in Japan when I return there anyway ;3
This I like
It was an excellent manga.
Hanafuda reminds me of Summer Wars (as I'm sure it does to a lot of people here).
To be honest, it actually influenced me to buy the cards xD
Same here! Koi!!! XD
Is the game easy to understand??
Yes! It is very simple to play ^^
The only thing that takes a little time to learn, at least in my opinion, is the Yaku, or card combos.
Those are very pretty cards.
Nice Softbank , Softbanks are easier to unlock compared to DoCoMos which need Hypersims
I have a few softbanks and DoCoMo keitas , the 740 was an update from the 702SC , only noticeable difference is the Charm holder loop , have fun with it cause I'll tell you this now
having a SoftBank and DoCoMo outside of Japan.. is like having an Atheltic friend who is now crippled , I using a DoCoMo SH-07A atm , you just wish it had internet capabilities
Oh wow, I wanted one of the Sharp keitai, but they were too expensive for my budget and I heard that using a HyperSim requires a bit of work, what with the CPR and all. Of course, I've heard these stories from people in America, so it could be different in Australia.
Yea, it is disappointing that I can not use the internet and some of the features of the phone, but I wanted a minimalist phone that I could use to make calls and occasionally text with, so this fits the bill quite nicely.
Plus, it's easy on the eyes ^^
indeed the Keitas are good for people who just want to keep their credit limit within their Talking and Texting , keeps the bill low too ;)
Forgot to mention , im also glad you didnt pick up a Softbank 920SC , its worse than the 740 for Texting.. character limit is 60... compared to 740s 120..
Ahh, well I'm glad I went with the 740 then ^^;
Does the 3G net and texting/MMS work on the phone? I had a SoftBank Toshiba 903T (it was Voda JP back then actually) a few years back, it was really cool but none of the data features every worked, just phone and basic texting. Japanese phones are a pretty slick conversation starter, though.
The 3G network does not work here in America, and Neither does MMS, just phone calls and SMS.
Awesome, hanafuda cards, I convinced my friends to get them and we played Koi all year back in high school, really fun game.
It really is. Koi-Koi is huge amounts of fun ^^
*clicks*
